26mm Wide-angle Lens with 5x Optical Zoom and 14.1MP CCD
The 14.1-megapixel high-resolution DMC-LS5 features a newly developed f/2.8 26mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom (35mm equivalent: 26-130mm). The 26mm wide-angle lens captures approx. 181% larger viewing space compared with that of standard 35mm camera, which excels in shooting vast landscapes or many subjects even at a short distance indoors. The Extra Optical Zoom function uses the center part of the CCD to extend this 5x zoom ratio to powerful 10.5x zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 295mm) at a resolution of 3-megapixel or less.. 

iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode for Simple One-Touch Operation
In the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, the DMC-LS5 does all the work for you, leaving you free to compose your shots and capture all the special moments. The Face Detection function detects faces anywhere in the frame and automatically chooses the optimal focus and exposure. The Face Detection also features the Digital Red-eye Correction (Red-eye Removal). The Intelligent Scene Selector senses the ambient conditions and automatically selects any of the Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait or Night Scenery Mode accordingly.

Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.) for Beautiful Blur-free Photos
Thanks to the Optical Image Stabilizer in the DMC-LS5 anybody can now take beautiful, blur-free shots with ease. The Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S) detects hand-shake movement and compensates to produce sharp, clear images, everytime. With O.I.S. even challenging night scenes and portraits and shots in dimly lit rooms are a breeze

720p HD Video Recording
The Panasonic DMC-LS5 can record motion images in stunning high-definition (1,280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps in Motion JPEG format). In Motion Picture Mode, the length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cardyou are using (Up to the equivalent of 2GB per motion-image recording.)

2.7-inch LCD with Wide-viewing Angle
