- 5.1 Channels
- Surround sound, which comprises of five speakers and a subwoofer (for bass).
- 7.1 Channels
- Surround sound, which comprises of seven speakers and a subwoofer (for bass).
- Full HD
- The highest screen resolution available, measuring 1920x1080 pixels (1080p). True HD is available with Blu-ray, PS3 and HD-DVD players.
- Dolby Digital
- A digital audio compression format, developed by Dolby Laboratories. It is the world standard format for 5.1 channel surround sound.
- Dolby Pro Logic II
- Digital sound decoder that enables 5.1 channel surround sound from stereo (two-channel) sources, like CDs. It also enables surround sound from games consoles such as Nintendo Wii.
- DTS
- Digital Theatre Systems Inc. is a specialist company that produces multi-channel digital surround sound for movies.
