Introducing the Sony Cyber-shot H Series H400 Digital Camera, the world's first camera with 63x optical zoom. It zooms like a pro, handles like a DSLR camera but is easy as a compact to use. With an ergonomic grip, the buttons and features are carefully placed and easy to reach, just like a professional camera. The H400 packs in a range of shooting technologies to help you get those creative juices flowing - including Picture Effect, Sweep Panorama, and Party Mode.

Key Features

  • Record: Hit the dedicated movie recording button and record blur-free 720 HD images with digital sound.
  • Zoom: The H400 has a massive 63x optical zoom and a 20.1 effective megapixel Super HAD CCD sensor. The lens moves gyroscopically and compensates for movements caused by shooting handheld, for amazingly sharp pictures across the focal range.
  • Modes: With a variety of different modes you can shoot any scene - choose from Intelligent Auto or Advanced Flash for the perfect photo.
  • Compose with confidence: The electronic viewfinder gives you a high-resolution, real-time preview of your shot - while the LCD screen lets you instantly view pictures and see footage as you record.

Sony Cyber-shot H Series H400 Digital Camera is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 516.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from useful bit of kit Bought this to fill the gap between my smartphone and DSLR. I opted for a bridge as it would let me get close to my subjects without the need to carry a range of lenses. The H400 I felt fitted the bill. The only negative I have is the need to present the button to switch between viewfinder and LCD, I find it to be a right pain. That said, the rest of the camera I will not fault. Easy to use, good quality images at all focal lengths with some degrading at extreme zoom but no more than expected. Picture quality seems fine and responses more than adequate. Fulfills my needs and I would be happy to recommend the camera.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed with my first bridge camera Purchased just two weeks ago. Where do I start - firstly - camera did not come with any easy to follow basic instructions. Eventually was given a link by Sony help online. Next prob was the delay between taking each shot i.e. Take shot, black screen then you see pic you have just taken. Prob about 6 secs in all but by now the bird or squirrel has gone! Also on bright or sunny day "purple haze" when I look through viewfinder making in difficult to focus on subject. Great zoom but would need a tripod with me always to use. I prefer using viewfinder but Tried using LCD screen - problem even worse. Think Ill just be

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Zoom Lens I've only had the camera for a short time, but I'm extremely satisfied with its performance. It does everything you expect of a compact camera with the advantage of being able to get really close to your subject. The intelligent auto function works well but I haven't had the chance yet to get to grips with the various manual modes. I only have a couple of negative comments. First, I would like to be able to select the macro mode manually. As far as I can see you have to rely on the automatic function to select it. This brings me on to the second negative, which is the, almost non existent, instruction manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 1st camera I wanted a good well known brand camera, that would not be too overly complicated to use. I am starting out on the photographic route and reviewed quite a few similar cameras. This one caught my eye as its a good name, I have owned Sony cameras in the past and never had issues. A compact bridge camera gives me easy to use, good quality pictures, operational it is easy to use, settings and camera set up easy to follow. So far I have experimented with basic camera use and i am impressed. The camera is solid, perhaps a little heavy but it packs a lot of functions. This camera lets me get used to how a camera works and processes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incomparable zoom I've had this about 2 weeks and overall I'm very pleased. I also have a Sony Alpha Nex-6 and, although it doesn't quite live up to the standard of this camera, it is an excellent all round preformer. The staggering zoom and fantastic price more than compensate for any (few) shortcomings. Other reviewers have commented on focussing performance at x63 but I've found it fine, if one switches to spot focus. I do, however, wish there was a manual focus option, but at the price I'm not complaining. I can't comment on the video performance as I never use this facility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent shots. I wanted something that was easy to use with a great zoom & not have to change lenses on Wintry & very cold days out shooting pictures. So I viewed so many bridge cameras & the Sony DSC H400 seemed perfect for my needs & I wasn't wrong either. I am so happy with everything about this camera & it's not really heavy in fact quite light. The only thing I miss is that there is not a handy manual that I can refer to when out on my travels. But that's very little to complain about when I have an excellent camera & can refer to the manual on the internet if need be but I found it was quite easy to get used to the settings etc just by going through the menu on the camera itself.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good camera but some flaws. goood camera, decent photo quality, easy enough to use. the instruction booklet is a waste of time. well as it is more a leaflet than a booklet it didnt have much information in there. there is no hdmi out on this camera. this means to watch hd video and to view photos on your tv you must download them to a computer and then onto a usb stick. thats assuming you are lucky enough to have a tv that has a usb slot. if we had known there was no hdmi out we would have got a different camera. we were naive enough to assume something that films in hd would have a hdmi out. at least we will ensure we dont make this mistake again in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall, brilliant. This was given to me as a christmas present a year ago and i’m so grateful that it was. I’ve been into photography for a few years now but I never had an actual camera and by reveiving this, I feel like my photography has really improved and evolved since. However, some of the features can be really tricky to understand, especially when trying to figure out the best time to use them and i often find the focus very tricky to adjust manually as it blurs more often than not or the quality doesn’t come out the best. Overall, it is a good product once you can efficiently use and understand the features. (:
