Sony Cyber-shot H Series HX400V High Zoom Digital Camera is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular Value. I own an RX100M3 and felt the need to have a camera with a better zoom option. The HX400V fills that need and has the versatility to replace the RX100M3 in daily use. It could be improved with the faster processor from the compact camera but that's barely an issue. What does annoy me is the lens cap. Some modest gesture towards grip would have been a welcome concession, Sony, alternatively a means to secure it neatly to the camera body. This camera may not be embraced by the professionals but for the point and shoot clients with a creative bent it's perfect and it's a bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensational Update I've found SONY's cybershot series of cameras just the 'bee's knees' for enthusiastic amateurs like me. My current cameras, still in operation, include the DSC-H50, DSC-HX100V and now the DSC-HX400V, all of which I find perfect for the traveller wanting to bring back valuable memories of trips overseas or wherever, without the weight and cumbersome gear of interchangeable-lens cameras. The quality, features and reliability are more than enough for the vast majority of photographers. Each update I've made has brought with it sufficient added features and capability to suit my requirements. In each case, I've placed first priority on the lens and zoom, which give such enormous scope for taking shots other cameras can't. If this isn't your first priority, try something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Service over generic problem with this camera I have been very happy with this camera until last week when it developed a E:62:10 problem. Camera was bought from a licensed Sony retailer, DWI in Hong Kong in June, 2014. After doing research found out this problem has been around over a number of years from 2007 and has affected a number of Sony cameras and video cameras including this, my HX400v and the HX300v. Given this information I phoned Sony support last week and after explaining the problem, telling consultant where I bought the camera from and that the camera was over 12 months old I was told the camera would be fixed by Sony. They arranged pickup last Thursday and today have been told I need to pay for the repair because it is out of warranty. Find this hard to accept as this is an ongoing Sony problem that Sony is aware of and now they want to charge for a repair for a camera barely 15 months old. Over the past 15 years I have owned many Sony cameras including DSC S50, F717, HX1, DSLR a330, HX100, DSLR a77 and HX400v. In view of this latest experience doubt I will ever buy another Sony camera out of fear that this ongoing fault/error may appear in future models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value and Versatility. I bought the camera for its zoom capabilities. It may not meet the expectations of the true professional but for the point-and-shoot generation this will be perfect and is substantially better value than the more compact DSCRX100 M3.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from amazing value. This was bought to replace my old DSLR.. so I was wary of what I would get for the money. I am blown away by the lens quality, and the intelligence of the auto function. Only downside is no raw output. Other than that the camera is far more capable than I am....
