Nikon D3500 DSLR with 18-55mm Lens + Nikon 70-300mm Lens Bundle is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 149.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm a Photo-Takin' Crazy Person Now! Had point-and-shoot cameras for many years, mainly because I was scared of trying to learn how to take good photographs with an SLR. I recently tool the plunge and jumped into the ring when I purchased my D3500. I love it! It let's me go slow on the learning curve to get to know the camera just well enough. I got very confident and purchased my first lens - 35mm non-zoom DX, on my own without any advice and it works perfectly. I'm really impressed with Nikon's fit and finish. The D3500 is a very solid camera that should do any novice or semi-pro well for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gateway to a Pro Setup Nikon absolutely KILLED IT with this model. The user-friendly layout was an easy transition for me from Canon. The functionality is limitless! However, you do have to spend quality time in each specific mode under each specific setting to get the full potential from this unit but the patience can be rewarding. Ive been places where people have knocked the camera solely on being a cheaper-end DSLR and they couldn't be more wrong. I recommend balancing lens choice since the stock 18-55 has limitations BUT, for growing your equipment, you wont need to upgrade the camera anytime soon. Ive done portraits, BW, Landscape, Macro, everything! and this camera tackles it all!!! If you need a cost-effective travel buddy, look no further

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent camera with some odd quirks. I would love to have given this a 4.5 and not a 4. It is a great working camera. The focusing system is not foolproof, particularly in dim light but it works well. I haven't tested it with birds in flight but I focused on a moving car. I wish it had WI FI, either built in or with an adapter. The major negative is that its Bluetooth capability is lame. It is basically a remote shutter release. Still if budget is an issue, and it is for me, it will produce excellent photos. I also wish the website made it easier to figure out the different features for each competing camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing image quality for any distance I love this camera for any reasons, it's my first DSLR, and very easy to use and learn. The quality is exceptional, WAY better than any IPhone picture. (You heard that, Google.) I've been interested in photography for a while, and got the D3500 as a Christmas present. The only thing I would change is how you download photos, the only way to get to your photos is through SnapBridge, and that takes a while. Other than that, I've been impressed with this camera, It's light, small, and can capture a moment extremely well. I recommend Lightroom for editing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not just for beginners I would rate this 5 Star except for the following inconveniences. 1 - No infrared sensor or remote. You need run an app (snapbridge) in order to have this feature. 2 - The Live Preview mode LCD screen display is much to dark even at its highest setting to view outdoors on a sunny day. 3 - No WiFi connection. Again the Snapbridge app must be used to upload photos to your phone, then to your computer, unless you use the Nikon Transfer program on your computer and direct connect. Again the camera is great and for the price it's worth it. If the above features were included, the price would have to be raised I guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent entry-level camera that can stretch all the way to true pro results. As a professional photographer with a very tight budget for a second camera body, I decided to try the D3500. I've been amazed at the pro-level results that I've gotten out of it when paired with decent lenses. I love how lightweight and easy to hold the camera body is; this makes you want to take it with you everywhere, unlike heavier full frame cameras. Personally, I don't mind most missing features such as a tilting/touch screen; I don't shoot video, so this doesn't apply to me. The only two features that I do miss terribly on this body are, first, the capacity to leave the timer on continuously (one has to select it again for every new shot,) and second, the lack of a dedicated bracketing button and automatic bracketing function (you can sort of pull bracketing off on the D3500 by manually increasing and decreasing the sensitivity of the sensor, but it's quite cumbersome and it involves pushing buttons and navigating through settings, which increases the risk of moving the camera when it's on a tripod.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Camera, Lenses and Price Received this camera as a Christmas gift. Since then I have reviewed the manual on how to use all of the features of the camera. Too many to digest in one pass of the manual. Plan on using this camera on a Mediterranean cruise later this year. Hope I can gain some level of expertise by then. Previously owned a SLR Asahi Pentax I purchased while I was in the Navy years and years go. Loved photography then and still do. I also own a Nikon Coolpix 95 that is an excellent point and shoot camera. All Nikon products are great! Asked for this at Christmas to expand my continuing interest in photography. One Difficulty - SnapBridge - Difficult to connect to!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first DSLR. This was my first time really using a DSLR. I have loved it. It was very easy to understand and with the little online classes I have learned even more. I find something new almost every time I use it. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great camera.
