LG 3.1.2 Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar + Wireless Subwoofer is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from SPK8-S rear speakers bass management flaw LG soundbar and SPK8-S rear speakers bass management flaw The sound bar not realize bass management to SPK8-S rear channels . It's simple to test it, run Dolby Atmos test tones (7.1.2) and for every sound bar channel the subwoofer make some bass (the bass management ), for the rear channels (SPK8-S channels) sub is mute, no bass management. I repeat the test using 7.1 Dolby Surround test tones and the results are the same. This is a MAJOR flaw in LG's sound bars because SPK8-S rear channels has no deep bass at all. Please LG fix this behavior. Sorry for my poor English (not my principal language) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great atoms soundbar This is a great soundbar. Let me make this clear the only way to get atoms is by hdmi E arc to hdmi Arc. Throw the optical cable away, it’s pure junk. You will need 8k hdmi to actually get the pure sound these soundbar can produce. The lg app works great and gives you a few more options versus the controller, but if you have lg oled you should be using lg sync anyways. The Bluetooth is newer version of Bluetooth so it’s very fast to connect but seems to have security flaws. One thing I don’t like is this sounbar has some serious flaws as in security compare to my other soundbar. I have had my soundbar tap into twice and can’t figure out how they are connecting to my soundbar. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soundbar Upgrade Excellent product; a great replacement for my previous 2.1 soundbar. My favorite feature is the dedicated center channel in this 3.1 soundbar. With the soundbar in "movie" mode, the center channel really brings forward and emphasizes the dialogue, which tends to get buried in music and sound effects in so many movies. It did take me a while to figure out the best HDMI cabling configuration...with my cable TV box left connected directly to my TV, I had problems with out-of-sync audio and video when watching cable TV content. By moving the cable TV box to the soundbar's HDMI input, that problem is resolved. I love the Dolby Atmos capability; watching Disney+ and Netflix Dolby Vision/Atmos content on my LG OLED TV and listening through the SN8YG soundbar is an audio-visual treat. (Watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on an OLED with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos!) The low-profile soundbar fits well with the tabletop-mounted LG TV. Out of the box, the soundbar is too bass-heavy, which I guess is the norm in the world of soundbars because so many people crave earthshaking vibrations and excessive volume, but fortunately there is plenty of level adjustment range available and I could achieve decently balanced equalization. I am also pleased by how much better the CEC integration works (compared to my old soundbar) with my LG TV...either my TV remote or my cable TV remote will power up or power down my TV, the soundbar, and the cable TV box all with a single button push. I should note that I use this product strictly as a speaker system for my TV/cable box/DVD player...I don't use and cannot comment on Bluetooth integration with mobile phones, Google voice, or any of the other features. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Actually very impressed My roommate received this lg soundbar and I am totally blown away. This combined with the LG TV in the living room shakes the house! I am so excited she got this. When I play my video games it feels like I'm actually inside them. I really love the sleek look of the unit too. Its matte black/speaker cover apparel makes for a super fancy addition to your entertainment set. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a true and complete sound experience! Rated 5 out of 5 by from SN8YG Sound Bar Review The sound is awesome, it is clear, crisp, balanced and with excellent bass. Set-up was a breeze, it connects to my LG TV easily via HDMI arc, and the sound is huge. My apartment lounge is above average size and the sound from the unit easily fills the room, in fact I rarely use more than 30% volume, there is no shortage of punch from this unit. It also easily connects to my google assistant and can be operated by google. Would definitely recommend. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Dolby Atmos Sound Bar that is Simple To Use The SN8YG is a 3.1.2 sound bar that supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and also uses Meridian Audio to help fine-tune LG’s sound bars with advanced signal processing. The SPK8-S speaker kit expands the SN8YG to a true 5.1.2 system. Setting up the additional speakers was seamless and instant. No issues here. It sports the same exact design and dimensions from last year, which is a sleek, brushed dark gray metal aluminum finish that perfectly matches LG's 2019-2020 OLED TVs. The SN8YG measures 41.7” long, 2.2” tall and 4.7” deep. The metal grill finely wraps around the sides in smoothly rounded edges, while discreet, touch buttons line horizontally on the top. The remote is also quite simple to use with large buttons. eARC support is new for the SN8YG, and allows it to receive lossless content straight from a Dolby Atmos supported TV, as well as any other connected devices to that TV. I’m happy to say it works perfectly. The SN8YG is also Google Voice and Chromecast compatible. I'm not a Google user myself but the 'LG Wi-Fi Speaker' app for iOS or Android is where the SN8YG can be remotely controlled and where firmware updates are downloaded. This requires a Wi-Fi connection, although the app seems quite lackluster and poor in quality, considering it's 1.5 star review for iOS. Sound quality is amazing and detailed with a very convincing sound field. In Blade Runner 2049, the rooftop rain scene where K and Joi are having a moment, occasional drops of water falling on metal from above the frame are produced only in the up firing drivers and gives a sense of added height into the scene. As for the low end, the subwoofer is impressive and punchy. ‘The Outpost’ precisely jolts you with every single round being fired from atop the Hum-Vee mounted machine guns. Mortor rounds and RPG explosions sound rich and powerful yet the low end doesn’t mask or muddy the mix. I’ve always had problems with the center channel in past LG sound bars, but it's definitely much improved here, although the problem is still slightly apparent in older content, while newer movies and TV shows are very clear. The most balanced sound field comes from Dolby Atmos content. Castlevania on Netflix is audio nirvana. The dialogue is crisp and untampered with, while bone crunches, whip snaps, magic summons, and crumbling rock are discreetly sent to the proper channels. The SN8YG is a solid Dolby Atmos sound bar that is very simple to use. I highly recommend it for home theater sound. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
