Great Design and Build Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The WF-1000XM4 noise cancelling Headphones, look sleek and well designed. Sound quality for a product of this size is excellent. Battery Life is amazing, the recharging case is well designed and compact, making it easy to carry around safely. There are 3 sizes of grommets to suit ear fit comfortably and seal for noise cancelling. The Headphone App works well and adds to the listening pleasure, displaying battery levels, allowing Equalizer Sound changes and many other user parameters. The Packaging is compact and looks to be a recycled cardboard type, which I would image is quite environmentally friendly.

Great sound, comfortable fit, handy features
I bought these as an upgrade to my WF-1000XM3 headphones after 2 and a half years of daily use and I'm glad I did. The improvement in comfort and fit are noticeable from the start. The headphone connect app even measures the air pressure when wearing to ensure you've got the best earbud size in each ear for optimal quality and isolation.
The sound quality is fantastic, as I expected from my past experience, and the design enables a secure and comfortable fit so there's no worry of them slipping or falling out during activities.
Connectivity is a breeze and seems better than their predecessors.
Do yourself a favour and get a pair. Your ears will thank you.

Great functionality but...
With the ear plugs, I would add size between large and medium as this would be perfect fit for me. The functionality is great, but I like have control on all 3 aspects on touch headphones at the same time, without having operate by mobile such us:
1. Volume
2. Play pause
3. Switching between noise cancelling and ambient sound
It is possible by implement specific sequence by touch buttons on them. Such us playing control on the left, volume on the right and sound control on both at the same time. Is just idea for Sony to make an update. You can make update to introduce, choosing functionality by pressing both headphones at the same time. That would be perfect :)
Besides above, they are great

Almost perfect
Been using this for a few weeks now. Sony has made leaps and strides but there’s still work to be done.
Sound is better than airpod pro. And it’s aesthetically pleasing. Noise cancellation is better than airpod pro.
Airpod pro has a better mic and better transparency mode.
The main thing I would say that I would like to be improved is the way it goes into your ears. It lacks consistency. Airpod pros almost plug into your ears like a pop. Whereas the Sony you have to play around with it to get a perfect fit every time you use it.
8.5/10.
I hope Sony improves on this with their next one as I don’t see myself going back to AirPods.

All round brilliance
I was apprehensive around some of the reviews re ear fit & treble weakness. Also the size of the buds.
Absolutely nothing to worry about. The buds fit my medium sized lugs perfectly. Wore them last night for 4 hours straight and no discomfort with the large foam tips.
The case & buds are tiny. The case could almost be described as cute.
Out the box there is treble weakness and a muddled middle sound. 10 seconds to fix in the great Sony Heapdhone app. I went for Bright but with slightly lower treble and 2nd lower channel. Clear Bass 2 or 3.
The case lid is a little flimsy but no give like some of the earlier units I've read about.
Overall, the WF-1000XM4s are some piece of tech and the best buds I've owned. Upgrading from RHA TruConnect.

First Class Sound and Noise Cancelling With Flaws
For sound quality and noise cancelling they are exemplary. The Android App is excellent too with many features to get the best out of them, even to the point of testing the fit is correct for noise cancelling to work effectively.
However, the fit is another matter. They are not the most comfortable in the ear canal and project far to much from the ear. Their weight causes them to easily fall out. One came out as I was on a bus, rolling down the isle. Then one fell out onto the road and nearly was lost down a drain. Bought to use on the go but cannot risk the possible loss at the cost. So, of no real benefit to me for the use I purchased them for.

OMG!
Just got my buds after months of searching, reviewing, buying and returning other brands.
The ease of setting up was a breeze to my iPhone, laptop and PC. I listen to all types of genres and I am not disappointed. From classical to reggae, they sound amazing. If you need a little bit more tweaking, then the eq from the app is ample.
Comfort wise, I had to go for the smallest tips. Had them in for a few hours now and no ear ache. Love the feature where you start taking and the music stops. No more taking buds out to talk.
Phone calls are crystal clear.
Love them, love them, love them

Disappointing ANC
Whilst the sound quality is good, I'm not exactly blown away by them. However, the ANC is a real letdown, as is the microphone quality during phone calls. These are probably related to each other. There is a feeling online that Sony have had QC issues with these buds, so I may be a victim of this, I haven't had a chance to contact support to deal with it. Is it bad enough to ask for my money back? Not quite, though I probably should. Will it put me off buying Sony earbuds again? Yeah, I'll probably go back to Bose. They can also be a bit flakey when connected to my garmin watch, though this may be a problem with garmin more than Sony. I have no way to tell.
