Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very inconsistent. I bought this product 3 months ago and am sorry I did. On numerous occasions the camera will not pick up the arrival of a person but will when they leave. The camera did not acknowledge my arrival two days ago and last night recorded me leaving the house but not when I returned after a few minutes. Obviously not sure when it has not picked up someone coming and going. We purchased the camera so we could keep an eye on our property. We are not there all the time but a couple of out children call in regularly for various reasons. I am sorry I purchased the camera in the first place and will not be wasting more money on an ongoing basis.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent camera with one downfall Pretty good camera, not sure if true 1080p but still nice quality video. Motion detection has a lag of around 5 seconds until the alert comes through to phone, have heard this is fixed with a arlo hub. Animal detection works fine, spotlight is nice and bright and can be disabled if required. Siren isn't the loudest but can definitely be heard. The only downside I can see and it's quite a big security concern, is that the sync button is easily pressable (which interrupts the cameras motion detection, recording etc) if you can reach the camera so it needs to be well out of reach of intruders.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Satisfied - but only just we purchased the Arlo products as they had great reviews, but I have to say friends have a different brand and appear to have a far better outcome. The night vision option doesn't actually provide any better view than the normal vision option once the sun goes down. There is a lag (1-2 minutes) whereas other products seem to operate in realtime. The setup functions for motion detection doesn't seem to work effectively. We receive constant notifications for movement (vehicle street traffic) which is outside the range of the configured range, but sketchy results with people and vehicle movements within the target area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Have returned the product I really wanted to love these cameras but unfortunately I sent them back. The quality is excellent, but the sensitivity of movement is just too high and the camera was recording every blow of wind all day long, I’d end up with 50 recordings a day and a battery that would only last two weeks. I tried changing the motion sensitivity but a) it didn’t make a difference and b) it would reset the sensitivity itself every single day and not stay at the setting I put it on. The live recording is also delayed long enough to defeat the purpose of being live

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but no storage without an Arlo hub. This is a great value camera if you already have an Arlo hub. Without the hub you can only view events happening in real-time and not able to back up incidents unless you pay for an Arlo storage plan. I have an Arlo hub so it isn't an issue for me. Battery life so far is great and looks like it will last the advertised 6 months between charging and maybe even more. I added this camera for our front door as it has a built-in spotlight which works well. The Arlo app is fine but I choose to use the Apple Home app which is great for what we need.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low battery I decided to buy the cameras after a great experience with the Doorbell. The doorbell battery has last approximately 2 months. I was expecting the cameras to have a similar duration. I've set the cameras to work only during the night no spotlight and with the settings of Battery Save Mode. But I've seen the battery been drained in just a few days. Very disappointed because the Doorbell was such a great experience. Will keep feedling with it to check if I can find a sweet spot on the camera settings that last more than just a few weeks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing I brought this product a few weeks ago and am underwhelmed by its results so far. The wifi connection keeps dropping out; even though I have placed the cameras in good wifi signal areas (indicated by medium to high signal strength when they are connected), which appears to also drain the battery a lot faster than advertised. All cameras have had to be recharged at least once since we got them; (albeit they were at the 2/3rd full level when first connected). For the price point and other online reviews I expected better.

How do you turn the spotlight off

Hi Sugar. Thanks for your question. You will need to go into the Arlo App. Tap or click the play button on the video feed of a compatible Arlo camera. Tap or click the spotlight icon . To adjust the brightness of the spotlight, tap and hold or click and hold the spotlight icon and adjust the slider to your preferred brightness. To turn off the light, tap or click the spotlight icon again

Do these cameras work as is or do I need to purchase an extra "hub" type thing for it to connect to?

Hi Tommo, thanks for a great question. Yes, the cameras come with a 3-month Arlo Smart trial included, allowing you to watch live feed, and access video recordings while away from home. After the trial is done, you will only be able to access live video, and receive basic notifications. You will require either a subscription plan, or a hub, in order to access recordings while away from home, back-up videos to the cloud, or use additional smart features. Hope this helps.

Hi Benn, thanks for your question. Unfortunately not. Continuous video recording (CVR) is an optional feature available on Arlo Ultra, Pro 2, Q and QPlus, and Baby cameras and requires cameras to be powered via AC cable, and an Arlo CVR subscription plan for each camera. Hope this helps. Note: Arlo doesn’t currently support downloading CVR videos; you can only watch CVR videos from the cloud.

How often do you need to charge the cameras?

Hi Wayneo. Thanks for your question. Battery lifespan varies with device settings, use, activity captured, and environmental factors, but all information indicates these should be charged every 3 to 6 months with average use. Hope this helps.
