After being a wet shaver all my 64 years decided after purchasing a travel shaver from Philips to try something different as my face was suffering from razor burns lately, Glad I did purchase it, I have now had it two months and I am amazed at the results it gives time after time, leaves ones face silky smooth after use also glides over the face with little if no effort on my part, Very easy to keep clean also with a quick rinse under the tap, I am certainly now a convert to this shaver, While I always knew Philips do best shavers out there. expensive but worth every penny as you only get what you pay for regards quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shaver I've Used This S9000 gives such a close shave, it look nice too. I like the battery feature which shows how much charge is left, my previous Philips shaver just ran out of charge without me knowing in advance. Battery life is very good. This is the second S9000 shaver I had bought in this last month, I bought this as a gift for my brother birthday next week - but I gave it to him the day after it arrived. I wanted him to replace his current old shaver. I know he will be amazed by its close shave and features. Something also to note is that Philips have a very good customer service, I had dealt with a Philips customer service representative called Greg.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Far too fancy, lost the purpose that is , shave Used a Philips razor for 50 years and been very pleased. My last razor, SensoTouch 3D ,with origin blades was excellent, but then produced a head which did not meet the same results. Now I have this new razor so ordered 2 new heads thus avoiding the problem I had before. What a disappointment the shave is not as expected and does not compare to the 3D . The head has, in my opinion, been produced to swap with other razors and does not reflect the high cost to purchase. I would recommend to anyone thinking of a purchase to look at a cheaper model for I am sure the heads will be the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best shaver by far So first thing first let’s get rid of the elephant in the room, yes the cost is high but to be honest your paying for it’s looks and the wireless charging pad, if you don’t want them then their are cheaper shavers that are just as good. If you sign up for their newsletter you can knock the price down. The design and feel of the shaver are great and it’s so easy to clean. As for the shave well what can I say it is without doubt the closest shave I’ve had in a long time and when I shave with a few days growth it’s do smooth and doesn’t pull the whiskers like my old one did. I would highly recommend this shave

Over the years I have had numerous brands of electric shavers I always found rotarys to struggle to give me a descent shave so I went onto foils these to be honest gave me an improved shave. I just happened recently to read some online reviews of Philips new 9000 prestige and they all recommended this new shaver stating its shaving performance and new shaving head technology had taken electric shaving to another level. Up until I purchased the Philips 9000 prestige I was using the LV65 which gave a very good shave that is until I used the 9000 the shave given is outstanding in my opinion. Don't take my word for it try it. This shaver in my opinion is the closest you can get to a manual wet shave. Brilliant piece of kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Still poor blade life I was persuaded to upgrade my 2-year old S7000 shaver to the 9000 Prestige because the blades on the 7000 only lasted 2-3 months. I was told that this problem was fixed in the 9000 Prestige by using better quality blades. The 9000 did give an excellent shave and the blades are certainly better but they were still only really good for 6-7 months. Shaving time has now increased from 1-2 minutes to 8-9 minutes two or even three times a day. I was told that the blades should last 2 years but they most certainly will not! I now need to recharge every 3rd day due to the increased usage time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good shave I will agree that this model gives the best shave I have had from a Philips razor. My main reason for scoring 9 is that I still need to shave for 10% or 6 mins to obtain a decent shave. I dont know how you can get a decent shave from only a 3 minute use as advertised. The other point I would make is that you have to use the wireless charger which is quite big and cannot use a standard charger as well which would plug in direct to the razor. My previous Philips razor used to take 6-9 mins for a decent shave so the Prestige is an improvement

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Undecided I purchased the S9000 prestige under the guidance of my local shaver shop. I wanted a product that would both shave my head (bald) and my face. I was told that the blades should last minimum 12 months (these are around the $100 mark to replace), but i have found that shaving every 2nd to 3rd day, they appear to be blunt from around 2 months ago ( which makes it around 6 months from new). Don't get me wrong, I love the razor, just expected the blades to last longer, blades were washed and sprayed after each shave. Im now contemplating going back to a blade razor and soap, $100 every 6 months will buy me a lot of razors.
