Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this to replace my M165 People on the phone were complaining they couldn't hear me clearly. My aging M165 has probably gotten wet one too many times so I started searching for a replacement. I found a competing model lying around my desk at work that came free with my work-issued Samsung phone. It was terrible and lost pairing daily so I knew I needed to order another Plantronics. I'm very happy with the M500. The voice prompts are more whisper-like and less intrusive than they were on my 165. Callers say they can hear me clearly. The M500 is very comfortable in my ear. It was very easy to pair with both my personal phone and my work-issued phone and it's easy to accept and end calls.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Black Explorer 500 It is an ok Bluetooth headset. My biggest problem is with the volume-it is very low even at its highest setting. Plantronics should do away with the volume setting on this headset and have the volume controlled by the phone. The volume button is very difficult to operate. You have to push and release it for every increment to increase the volume and you have to do this every time you turn off or charge the headset because it does not hold the highest setting. This is it is very difficult to do while you are wearing the headset. Callers hear me fine and state is very clear which is s the only reason I am giving it three stars. If you need a headset yo use outdoors or in a noisy environment this is not the headset for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice My very first wireless bluetooth brand new in a sealed box and it was missing the charging cord. I was still able to use the bluetooth as it came fully charged...Called Customer Service and they sent me a cord asap.. WEIRD experience never had this happen before. Talk time is 7 hours. I watched a complete movie and talked and still had charging time left. Connects great to my Samsung S6 Edge. No problems with interference or outside noise my people hear me great even driving with the windows down. The only issue for me is the volume is not so loud even when I turn it up on my phone and the device. It's ok but when watching movies it has to be pretty silent in the room to hear it all...Other than that I have no problems..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INDESTRUCTABLE I purchased my Explorer about 6 months ago and it has worked great. Excellent voice and call clarity and long talk times. But then it happened, I washed and dried my headset on a full cycle. I heard something hitting the inside of the dryer and promptly ignored it like any good husband would. My wife found it the next morning and it still worked!!!!!! It gets better, about a week later we got 18inches of snow here in Denver and while shoveling the driveway I sat my headset on the spare tire of the Wrangler. It fell off while driving in the snow, we searched for it but it was hopeless in the snow. Three days later when the snow melted off I found the headset in the middle of my road. Of course it had been ran over multiple times broken into pieces but it still powered up. Good job Plantronics this headset is a BEAST> See pics

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Losses bluetooth connection Received the product just as it was released. Great fit and clear sound. Initial setup was very easy and the device reconnects very fast with my iPhone 5S. The problem is that it keeps dropping randomly the bluetooth connection, both in the middle of a call or when it is idle. Customer service is excellent and I'm expecting a replacement unit shortly. Maybe it was a defective unit. I will update when I receive the replacement. If it was not for the connectivity issue, it would be the prefect headset!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product I bought this for my best friend, who is attached to her Bluetooth. She had lost her old one so I had seen the Explorer 500 and gave it to her as a gift. She absolutely loves it. She said it is the best Bluetooth she has ever owned. The sound is crystal clear and there is no distracting background noise, The battery life is great and I am so happy I made the choice to get her a Plantronics Bluetooth. I talk to her everyday and she always has her blutetooth on. Thanks again Plantronics for making my daily conversations with her the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and lightweight Started using one week earlier like the easy ear fit and with the rubber clip holds in place while walking Would like a higher volume but every caller hears me clearly and that's what counts Have not tested battery talk time but voice indicates six hours or seven when totally charged Like the charging wand looks like an applie type design well designed and easy to use plugs in easily and the light indicates full charge

Just received it today, It pairs easily, connects strong, voice guided command works as expected, people can hear me crystal clear. No issues at all. But, it fails in delivering clean, distortion-free, sweet sound like either a M165 or Voyager Legend. I am a big fan of Plantronics headsets, recommended to many friends and have all three of them in my family now, but I regret ordering Explorer 500 on the day of it's launch before someone reviews it.
