Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stops Taking Charge I have another JBL speaker that I love and I wanted a new one to go with my Google Home Speaker. I bought this and within 3 months the device stopped charging on the cradle it sits on. I contacted JBL customer care who was great and sent me another JBL Link and within 3 months the device stopped taking charge just like the last one. I am now skeptical of JBLs products that they are manufacturing.

I love the charging dock, it makes charging and taking the speaker on the go so much easier! I also love that JBL has started incorporating USB C to their new products. I was not impressed with the sound, for the size of the speaker I was expecting a little more power and clarity. It sounds just a little better than my JBL Clip 3. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Speaker for Apple Lovers I like the functionality of this speaker because it connects to Apple’s HomeKit. With AirPlay 2 I can play music seamlessly to this speaker. The design is good and basic. Battery life has not been an issue. I haven’t submerged in water but I’m glad it has some water proofing. This is a great and handy speaker. There are some quirks that though. The loudness can use some help, I’ve heard louder speaker coming in at the same size. But it gets plenty loud. The setup was a bit buggy, I had to reset it a couple to connect it to HomeKit and google. But once it connected it worked great. So far this is a great HomeKit Airplay 2 speaker!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I had some trouble figuring out how to work this speaker but once I downloaded the Google Play app, everything was resolved. I was surprised that this was not able to just connect to Bluetooth and play right away (maybe it can but I couldn't figure that out) so it seems you have to have the app to get it to work, which I don't see being a problem. The sound is amazing! It's clear, crisp and loud! I like to 'Hey Google' feature and find it to be very helpful and convenient. It has so many features that I am excited to try out and I've only scratched the surface. I think what makes this better than the competition is that it's portable and waterproof! Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the portable you need! I've used a lot of small portable Bluetooth speakers in my day, but this is by far my favorite. Besides the fact it has the fantastic audio quality you would expect from a JBL product, its packed with useful features. Having google assistant built right in makes this worth every cent. Its like having a virtual assistant anywhere you take this speaker. Also, not having to use a cord every time you want to charge is awesome. The charging base makes it so easy, and a low chance of wearing out the port. The only negative is that is does not come with a USB outlet, although you probably have a drawr full of them, its something to keep in mind. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fatally flawed app This unit is commendable for its audio prowess, styling, and the nice addition of a charging cradle. Unfortunately, it is run via the Google Home app, which is about as clunky as early 1980s technology. The user interface is limited and not intuitive, and of course as is typical detailed instructions are not provided or available. If you are considering this unit for a wifi streaming, then look elsewhere. With the Google Home app the Link Portable is effectively less functional than than an AM/FM radio in a Chevy Nova. Final nail in the coffin...the Google owned YouTube Music is not available to stream via the Google Home app without a PREMIUM subscription.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, poor execution I’m not sure what JBL was thinking when they decided to make this device require set up via googlehome to even use bluetooth. It is advertised as being able to set up via apple airplay2. What a nightmare that was and even after you couldn’t use bluetooth unless you set it up through google home which I do not want to use in any capactity. The speaker is very difficult to set up and use, the “easy start” guide is next to useless with no online resources to help. JBL needs to recall all of these speakers and replace the software with something that is a lot more user friendly and intuitive. Get rid of the google cr*p and allow me to connect to bluetooth without any extra hoops to jump through.

I Just got the New JBL Link Portable Speaker couple days ago and honestly , i am very impressed with this speaker.. it sounds great , has nice features nice design , and it is user friendly.. - The Speaker it self is very well made , not too thick , not too tall , or bulky .. I would say it has the perfect size.. and also the right weight to keep it in place when playing loud music.. - The sound is Great.. has very good Vocals , very good Mids , and good Bass considering the size of this speaker.. - it is a loud speaker for it size that’s for sure.. - Functions are very easy and user friendly.. - on top of speaker .. Volume Down ( left ) Google Assistant / Pause ( center ) Volume up ( right ). - Top front of speaker .. four light dots show you in what level the Volume is .. - Bottom of the speaker.. a light dot shows that is connected to your Wi-Fi .. - Back of the speaker .. Bluetooth button , Mic ( off ) , Power button , battery level , and Charging port.. - one of my Favorite functions is the charging base that this speaker comes with , it is a Great Idea / Function.. You are able to charge the speaker just by placing it on top of the base.. or by simply plugging the cable on the back of the speaker.. - also , what a Great idea changing the cable connection type.. to type-C USB .. Great idea JBL Team.. - Another Great feature is , that it is waterproof , if for some reason it gets dirty , I can simply rinse it .. - Battery is very good .. you can use it for about 8 hours .. - overall , I am 100% satisfied with this Product .. - I would recommend this Speaker .. Hello. Is Link Portable able to create stereo pairs (or more, up to 100 if not mistaken) via Bluetooth like most other "old school" JBL's (and with them, or only with other Link P)? I know the google speaker groups via WF, but question about BT. Thanks!

Thanks for bringing this query to us. Our JBL Link speakers have a Chromecast feature. You can pair the speakers with other Chromecast enabled speakers by creating "Speaker Rooms or Groups" in the Google Home App.

What about the equalizer, I bought 2 JBL LP´s yesterday and after a day the eq disappeared?? I need to set the treble/bass to be able to try to get these speakers to produce a sound they should be capable of. If not I must return them.

There is no EQ settings icon for this device on the Google Home app. I would also like to know how to adjust bass and treble.

Does anyone else find the wireless charger does not seem to connect to the speaker properly and so doesn't charge properly? I can leave the speaker on the stand, and it'll start charging but I'll come back at the end of the day and it's flat

my speaker was working perfectly fine via cradle for about 4 months and now out of sudden charging via the cradle stopped. tried all possible configurations of charging cables/ports/power sources and charging only works when speaker is plugged directly to charging cable. as someone mentioned - what's the point of having cradle if does not work as supposed? - should I send it back under warranty?

When I talk to my JBL it listens for a split second and then stops listening. Does anyone else have this problem if so how do I fix it?

Hi, I have a non-BT & Wifi pc, with BT adapters, connected to the same network via ethernet cable). Does this allow access or management of the music file on the pc (eg to play thru the JBL spkr)? Also what do all the lights mean/colours? Thx

"something went wrong" "speaker may be set up but we could not communicate with it from your phone. ... All settings on phone fine. Strange thing. Speaker shows up as "bedroom" and linked to what looks like an arabic account

The speaker can't be set up if there's still an account linked to it. Please try to reset the speaker if this can help fix the issue: Press and hold the mute microphone button for 10 seconds to reset the speaker to factory default. Our JBL Link Portable's default Bluetooth name is Bedroom.
