Bought this a couple of weeks ago and at this stage it is doing everything it is supposed to do. Only issue is when going into internet pressing the keys on the small remote control is an absolute pain! But there might be other ways around this which we are still checking out. Having access to ABCiview, SBS and Netflix is a bonus as we don't have a smart tv it would be nice if we could work out how to get all the other channels i.e. 10play, plus7 and 9now but as I said we are still learning.

Beware Panasonic products with freeview claims
We bought the the DMR-PWT550 a little over a year ago. One of the reasons we chase it was because of the freeview plus feature. There were several delays in releasing the app to make this work. It worked for a while then just after out warranty ran out it stopped working again. Crashes at the adds after the first programme segment every time. Panasonic told us to talk to the freeview people. the Freeview people told us to turn every thing off and on again. I let them know that didn't work several weeks ago and they haven't responded or fixed the problem.

Panasonic Twin Tuner dvd player & Recorder
It does what it claims to do but is not user friendly or as easy / convenient to operate as the LG (no longer available) it replaced. One example (of many) would be: You can only delete one recorded show at a time using one small button. If that button fails (quite common with remotes is my experience) the that's it, no more delete capability. You cannot quickly go to a particular point in time of a show, it is either fast forward / backward till you get there or the point last viewed.

Ideal unit full of functions, yes still compact.
Full functioning all in one PVR/DVD/Blu-Ray with twin receivers, yet remains compact and easy to operate. Ideally suited to remove clutter caused by an array of separate components, without any functionality loss.

Very average usabiity
Ridiculous not to have open/close function on remote unit.
Thoughtless placement of on/off and open/close switches on top of unit when it is most likely to be housed in a cabinet shelf.
