After thinking about purchasing the Citation series for a long time, I finally decided to pull the trigger a month ago and couldn't be happier! Starting with the look and quality, I love the fabric and black end caps with the polished edge. It really is the most beautiful unit available. The sound bar has a massive breadth of ability when it comes to sound. Everything from TV, movies, jazz, EDM, and hip hop sounds amazing. It really fills the entire room and the sound has a lot of dimensionality. I currently have the sound bar and sub and this is a perfect start. The main reason for purchasing this line is so I can add on with different speakers through our house and it is all wireless. Completely recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great sound Epic sound quality, quick delivery. Having a small issue getting the soundbar to wake after its sat idle for the night. In the morning when I power the TV up, the sub comes on right away. The soundbar just didn't give any audio. It was powered up, and you could scroll the menus but no sound except from the sub. Tried powering it on and off, same thing. Physically unplugged unit, then plugged in and powered on and it worked fine. Have had to do this twice now in order to have treble. Subwoofer works immediately every time. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there an issue with my soundbar?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Overly complex without "simple" mode use or set up Picked up this bar on a close-out simply for the price and HK name going on idea that it's sound would be great given Audio name. My overall impression is sound is great but while HK built in nice feature such as Google Assistant, I wouldn't recommend it for someone wanting a basic sound bar for the bulk of it's use. The unit is very stylish and appears well built with a very nice finish/materials. One has to download an app to fire it up. If you want Google assist or use the built in options a lot, great ... but I picked this up primarily for TV sound, perhaps for streaming movie sound when not using a 7.1 surround sound system. However setting it up as just a soundbar is painful and a time waste. Having to load an app just to get the thing to function seems simply another OEM wishing to gather data on usage. I will say I didn't try hard to not use the app, but the bar simply didn't care to function without using the app. Sad one can't just plug and play. One other observation is basic use. I will suspect I can configure the bar's default to turn off but the thing just insists on turning on whenever any signal is present from my TV. I can turn down the volume and ignore it, but if I turn it off, it fires back up after a min. It seems HK fails on energy star thinking which from my perspective should be a default. I'll additionally note that a user may need to eq the bass down, maybe I'm overly sensitive to base but the unit to me is excessively bassy and the unit at low volume appears to up the base profile. This is minor but my observation. Overall as noted, my opinion is the unit is not what I'd call as a top pick even if you plan to use it as your primarily stereo stream for not only television but audio. Perhaps HK will option up a simple set up without need of an App. While this is my personal opinion, it just seems every new product requires you to download an app that might aid in keeping updates in check, also seems a personal data/usage grab even if aggregated. OEMs seem to seek new profit centers via apps and whether HK uses the app for this or not, I don't know, I just don't care that one has no option not to use an app.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Setup was a nightmare I spent hours trying to setup this bar on the Google home app. Google home app would find it start the setup then I'd get an error message near the end everytime. After hours of resetting and trouble shooting I gave up. Called customer support they told me to try to set it up on an iPhone (I have the Samsung Note 20 Ultra and my wife the iPhone 12 pro max) So I borrowed my wife's phone and it worked. Why? Who knows. Everything works great most of the time (also bought the sub, towers, and surrounds) sometimes while everything is off ill pass by the living room and notice either the towers or the surrounds on. If you're watching TV and pause it sometimes the whole 5.1 system goes to sleep and you have to press ARC on the bar or hdmi tv on the remote to wake them up. Look great and sound great (I'm no audiophile) hopefully they keep getting more updates to help fine tune them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Center channel DOA I had high hopes for this bar but the center channel speakers literally just didn’t work. Nothing but static. I’ll be exchanging it tomorrow and hope that it isn’t a repeat issue. Need better QC from a company as high end as HK.

I have the Citation bar and love it....but recently found that the sound bar is not working. We've rebooted (turning off and on) and also done a factory reset. During the reboot the display hangs on the message 'starting..' and nothing happens after this.

I am having the exact same problem. I called customer service and they were totally not helpful. I was very happy with the sound quality and performance, but the soundbar has stopped working completely. Is this a software issue?

Is the performance as good not having Dolby atmos

Thank you for your question. The Citation Bar does not support Dolby Atmos. But it will still play high quality surround sound with the traditional 5.1 formats. Great surround sound depends on many other things besides the sound format. How to unmute mic for good? When ARC is active mic is muted which is very stupid. On smaller model (Multibeam 700) mic is working as it should.
