Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dish TV Superbox Hi the latest software version released for the Super box 1.23 has resolved almost all of the teething issues, the unit records well and now has great remote response when fast forwarding and rewinding. If your device is not connected to the internet for automatic updates they can be found on the Dish TV website.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money This unit is full of bugs. We have had a earlier model of Dish TV so we are familiar with how they work. But this unit is nothing but trouble - programs not recording, recorded programs freezing when watching - and when it freezes ruining the program that is recording at the time. Don't waste your money!! Dish should never have released this to the market.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't recommend Purchased a month ago and I am disappointed in a product that has the potential to deliver so much. On demand viewing is (very) stuttery and the chromecast streaming is non useable. I have no issues with my fibre connection or wifi signal. Playback of recorded programs can skip and/or return to the beginning of the program. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst piece of tech I have bought I bought this about 2 months ago. In this time I have phoned Dish TV 3 or 4 times. Each time the support person has been exceptional it’s just pity the box is not as good as the company. The latest release of firmware seems to have resolved some of timeshift problems but just recently its started behaving really badly. Jumping to the beginning of timeshift when I try to rewind a couple of minutes, jumping the end when trying to skip over ad breaks. Then every now and again all on its own it will skip back 10-20 or so minutes. Tonight I tried playing a program that was recording. Press the enter button, and nothing, no program playing, no error, no message. Returned out and tried again, just the same. So frustrating. When it behaves, occasionally it does, the picture quality is good. As a receiver it’s great, as a PVR, it a pile of rubbish. It’s going back to the retailer tomorrow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Freeview PVR This unit does everything you need and turned out to have a better uhf tuner than the tv. I have since shifted house and can confirm the excellent performance with satellite as well. I have received two firmware updates and the Freeview on demand service now works as well as YouTube. I control the unit through a Harmony hub as well as using the supplied remote. Overall an excellent substitute system to replace subscription services.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Purchase Was at first impressed, but realised that since this is a Foxtel box, they are in competition with Netflix. Be aware then that you can't have Netflix unless you are really tech savy and can side load an app. This goes for Spotify as well. Now I'm having issues with sound / video syncing. It may have Android TV OS, but they have 'screwed' it down to the extent that I find it has little to offer. All in all, a very disappointing purchase and considering putting it on Trademe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expensive doorstop I have owned one of these for 14 months. I have persevered through the problems and updates. But today I again have had to switch the power off for 5 minutes to reboot it because it frequently loses channels and that's the most effective way of getting them back. The voice and pictures de-synchronise frequently. When I chromecast, it keeps flicking off and resetting. Every time I want to watch on-demand, I have to type my email address in because it refuses to save. And that's not a quick process. It's a very expensive doorstop.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of Hopes and Dreams does not deliver This unit I can not recommend, even with the updates and following there tech help(dish TV) from actual phone calls this unit will not function properly for more than 48 hours. When 2/3rds of the advertised functions fail to work with any reliability it has to go back...
