AEG14 Place Setting Dishwasher is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaking dishwasher I have had this dishwasher for 4 years earlier this year it leaked ruining my kitchen cabinetry as it has a 5 year warranty AEG fixed the dishwasher but I had to use my own household insurance to cover the damage to the kitchen. The dishwasher was repaired and returned to me now 3 months later it has leaked again and once again has been taken away to be repaired . I have asked for either a new dishwasher or my money back but have been told by AEG that it is their right to repair , so will wait to see the outcome. However Harvey Norman have been helpful with info.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I previously had an AEG dishwasher in my home back in Edinburgh before I moved to NZ. It was 10+ years old and looked and worked as if it was new. That home had a few AEG appliances and they were all superb. When the Fisher & Paykel in my new NZ home packed in about 2 months after I moved in I had only one brand in mind for replacing it. This model seems to be particular to A/NZ and after having used it for a while I think it's probably better than the one I previously owned. Inside it has XXL embossed on the metal door covering. A title it deserves as it is HUGE inside. My old AEG struggled with long stemmed wine glasses but this one is tall enough at the top to take plates vertically. Although it's free standing and not built in its power on/off switch is located in the edge of the door and not on the front. You have to press and hold to turn it on. This is great, if you have little ones with curious fingers, as it makes it pretty much tamper proof. They can't turn it on and, once the door is closed and it's running, they can't alert the program settings. It has several programs to choose from. The automatic is my preference as it can often be the quickest and never without compromise. Plates are always spotless, even hard baked in food on casserole dishes comes off no problem. When you start the Automatic program it says "2:03" on the door display. It seems to take 3 minutes to pre and load with water. From there it re-adjusts the time and typically takes only 40minutes to complete. It's quiet too, to my ears anyway. I like to run cold water over each item before placing it in. I think it's just stupid putting lumps of foods in a dishwasher, it's not a waste disposal unit. I don't know if it's true but I like to believe I'm extending the life of my dishwasher by not inflicting lumps of lose food on it to dispose of.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Its OK Only had the dishwasher a week, so may have to reveiw it again after a bit longer but my findings so far: Cleans the dishes OK but doesn't wash dishes very well that overlap. Food particles get stuck between the bottom rack handle and the door which is pretty annoying when you consider the price of the machine. I rang and spoke to Harvey Norman and they advised me that this will happen as food bits need to be removed prior to washing. Machine is only designed to remove sauces, butter etc." This is NOT what I was told by the sales lady when I was looking at them "dont pre-rinse as the machine needs to assess the amount of food etc and will wash accordingly". I guess we had different definitions of "pre-wash". It is one of the few machines available that are tall enough to fit my dinner plates on the bottom and and wine glasses on the top. I highly recommend you take your own plate and glass in and try them in the machines, I did this and very quickly eliminated a lot of the machines - you can go for the tilting racks but didnt think this would be so good with my young ones stacking the dishwasher and trying to adjust the shelves. Still working out which wash cycle to use, it is quiet but wouldnt say it was silent. I also want my dishes to finish the cycle and be dry - this machine does have an extra fan setting to dry the dishes and they do come out dry apart from the water in the top of plastic lids etc which is to be expected. Alot of dishwashers seem to solely rely on residual heat or having the dishwasher unstacked within an hour of the cycle finishing - sorry I am just not that organised and dont want to be wasting time drying dishes - thats what a dishwasher is for! If I didnt have to have this one for the height, I probably wouldnt have spent the money on it. My 25yr old secondhand SMEG did a much better job! These days its all about water and energy efficiency and the cleanliness seems to come second. Having said that, it looks good and most of the dishes come out clean and dry - guess my expectations were just set a bit too hig

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant This replaced an old Fisher & Payne's dishwasher that took 2 hours to run. This has a 30 minute cycle that has cleaned everything so far without the need for a second wash or hand washing. No issues at all. Would definitely recommend this dishwasher
