Bosch heat pump dryer
While we have only had the dryer for a few days, at this stage we are very disappointed. Despite following the instructions we have not been able to dry clothes completely without using additional cycles. This of course takes more time and obviously more electricity, and the main reason for buying this dryer was to save power. The manual advises sorting clothes according to material type for best results, but this isn't practical. If we did this every time we would have to dry a number of "loads" which of course would take all day and increase power costs. Unless we find we are doing something wrong, wouldn't recommend this very expensive heat pump dryer!

An excellent heat pump dryer
I really like this dryer. It initially took some working out regarding the controls - because most dryers don't have so many options -- but I found that if a setting says it is to be used for a particular thing (eg. cottons; towels; or quilt) then that is what it is for. If I put in a mixed load it makes sense to me that some things will dry faster due to the fabric, so I just pull out the dry clothes and let the damp ones keep drying, or use the manual setting to dry off the ones that feel damp (which just dries according to time). But mostly, its not that complicated, I put the clothes in, and they come out dry. I like them 'extra cupboard dry' so I can select settings that do exactly that. If I just have one or two items I just use the manual setting. I especially love that the laundry does not end up all wet and damp; and I can empty the water catcher easily - the drawer at the top right of the machine -- which shows me that the dryer has actually collected all that moisture! (There is a hose which can be put directly into the drain, but I chose not to use this due to positioning of my washer and dryer). The dryer is quiet compared to my last dryer. It also has a good lint catcher and clothes come out lint-free -- the catcher can be rinsed out and is solid. The dryer is large which is great. I bought a matching washing machine, and together they were pricey, but after a few months of using them I can confidently say they perform miles ahead of the ones I bought when I was a student. With growing kids they really have made a huge difference to being able to do big washes, are energy efficient, and quiet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

One Major Flaw
Overall I am very happy with this dryer, it is quiet and drys perfectly. My only complaint is lack of reverse action. My 15yr old cheapy tumble dryer had this option and I assumed a brand like Bosch and a relatively expensive dryer would have ths feature as standard.
It is impossible to dry a doona cover, they just roll into a ball. Have to take it out every 20mins and detangle in order to get the job done.
So close to a good job but a major flaw for me unfortunately. Expensive lesson learnt, check the specs!

I used this dryer yesterday for the first time and am so disappointed. Am extremely surprised that the towels came out still damp and were not even warm. The dryer does not seem to get hot or even warm in any way shape or form. So very very disappointed. I bought a dryer to finish off the washing as it is winter and quite often the washing comes in off the line dry but not dry enough to put in the cupboard, but the dryer isn't doing what I intended it to do.

Heat pump works well
So far it has been doing well. Took a while to get used to the controls.
Much better to set it up manually because the sensor detects that it is dry when some of the clothes are still damp. Also, it only turns clockwise, bed sheets ended up being rolled into a ball and the inner areas of the sheets are not dry, having to untangle the sheets.
I have not received my electrical bill yet so will be updating this if this saved me cost wise.

Great dryer, after reading reviews on this dryer was unsure about purchasing but decided to give it a shot and am extremely happy with this dryer! You just need to read the instructions on how to use it properly! Everything has come out perfectly dry and with the sensor detecting the moisture levels it has changed most load times to half of what the expected drying time was! It is also amazingly quiet for a dryer.

Quality product does what the label says
Never really felt the need to have a dryer, but was tempted with the start of winter to do some research, and settled on this product. I hadn't thought about a heat pump model, but after reading the efficiency benefits decided to get one over a standard condenser model.
So far its been used for shirts, sheets, underwear, towels, jeans and winter sports gear and I am very surprised at how quickly it works. New large bath sheets dried in less than 45 minutes after being spun at high speed in the washer. It is relatively quiet, and the settings are easy to understand without referencing the manual. In contrast I recall a friend who found her new drier (not a Bosch) so complex that she asked the manufacturer to take it away.
It's not the cheapest, and most definitely far from the dearest heat pump dryer around. The appearance is neat and it seems well made and it's also not so heavy that it can't sit on the bench over the washer.
I am prepared at this stage to give the dryer 5 stars, and would definitely recommend it to friends.
