How it works

To ensure that your whole wardrobe receives the best possible treatment in every wash, you need a washing machine that can adapt to the needs of different loads. The ProTex Series 9 with OptiSense washing system automatically adjusts the time of cycle as well as water and energy consumption to ensure gentle and precise washing with exceptional care every time.

Weight sensor technology

The 9 series from AEG features a weight sensor that can detect the weight of your load and advise on the precise amount of detergent you need to achieve perfect results..

Inverter Motor

The inverter motor works in the same way as those used in professional machines - without brushes and at a cooler temperature. The advantage is that it extends the working life of the motor, ensuring it can continue to deliver the same ultra-silent performance for longer.

XXL door

The XXL ProTex washing machines have a door opening of 340mm - that's 38mm more than before. This means one of the largest drum openings in the market, making loading and unloading very convenient - and giving you full control. The door opens 160 degrees, more than enough to ensure the door glass is out of the way as you load.

Silent System

The AEG ProTex washing machine has been designed with noise-reduction technology, including insulation layers and a purpose-designed inverter motor. This means you can wash a load at the time that best suits your schedule, without disturbing other activities in your home.

Thorough cleaning each time

ProTex Plus washing machines have been developed with Advance Washing Technology (AWT), a unique continuous shower system that guarantees even full loads receive consistent cleaning throughout. The wash is quickly saturated with water, preventing any chance of detergent staining at the beginning of a cycle.

AEG 9kg Front Loading Washing Machine is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 194.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature filled, efficient and quiet! I purchased this machine a few weeks ago, and I am incredibly impressed! It has amazing features - including a steam function, delay, and weight sensor (amazing much I can fit!), just to name a few. It washes even my most fragile fabrics without damage, and for towels, I can up the spin speed to 1600rpm and they come out almost dry! It is incredibly quiet, and only heard at all during the spin cycle, yet also so efficient. The added peace of mind of AEG's 5 year warranty has made me one very happy customer. So impressed with my purchase and would recommend to anyone seeking a new machine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected We had to shop for a new machine as our old top loader had finished it's run. We originally were not fans of the front loaders. However after the sales representative explained the features and benefits of this product, we decided to go ahead and purchase. It is amazing thus far. The 30min cycle is fantastic for that quick, normal wash, and the programming for the others cycles is great. Just push the selection buttons until the details you require pop up, select that cycle and the temperature you wish to wash at and the machine does the rest. I can fit a whole queen size and single doona in the wash together. WOW!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but not good enough I've been using it for 4 months now. We are a large family and use the machine quite heavily (~10 washes per week). The features are good, machine operates quietly and removes dirt quite well. But the clothes come out all wrinkled (I normally use the Economy, Super Eco and 20 min programs). Even the Anticrease program does NOTHING to remove wrinkles. I've also noticed that clothes get dimmer after 2-3 washes. I previously used an Electolux front loader for 4 years, and it actually gave me better results. So, overall, a bit disappointed. Also, it would have been nice to have a medium intensity wash. There's a 20 min wash, and all other programs are over 1 hour long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great washing machine the machine is excellent. washes really well, spins really well, so quiet and so balanced. The only problem i have had so far, is the wool setting has successfully shrunk EVERY single woolen item i've washed. i haven't had time to go back over the instruction manual as I'm sure this shouldn't happen. other than that, i love the machine. in fact, i've recommended the same machine to 3 other people, all of which bought one too - my parents, my ex-wife and a friend. all have provided the same feedback as i have above - awesome machine, but the wool setting is junk. id be more than happy to expand if you would like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super quiet! After having had Top Loader Washing Machines my whole life, I took the 'plunge' and purchased an AEG Series 9 Front Load Washer - and I am so glad I did! My whites have never looked as bright, and I can put a load on before retiring at night and not hear a thing (my previous washers were always very noisy). The selection of washes available is wonderful and if I'm in a hurry, the super quick 20 minute wash is very handy. Another of my favourite features is the anti-crease or steam refresh cycles, as I wear a lot of silky, delicate type clothes that really just need a freshen up. I would highly recommend this washer to anyone who's in the market for a Front Load Washer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as happy with it as expected. l bought this to replace another branded 10kg combo washer and dryer... overall the look of the machine is fantastic, washes cloths well and super quiet. my big issue is l can not put my bedding in it because of the weight restrictions on the duvets cycle its, limited in weight to 3kg! much less than the 9 kg so this was misleading. the wool and silk wash was also is only 2kg with spin cycle 1200rpm was no good for my possum jumpers they are now half the size after coming out so don't recommend that cycle also. the cotton cycle is 9kg but there is no way you can put this much in because of the drum size. overall very disappointed it will not do what we was told it would do. thanks regards Paul

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So excited to have an amazing washer! Our new washer arrived today and I couldn't wait to get the first load in. I was a bit scared of moving up to a digital machine as I have only had basic machines until now. I am so surprised how easy it was to operate! I decided to start with a simple load of towels. The cycle was very quiet and most of the noise came from filling. When it finished, I opened the door and a light came on shining inside. Very cool! The towels came out very well spun. Just put on the next load and still cant believe how easy it is to operate!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built unit that doesnt vibrate as much as some front loaders We had a similar quality German built front loader but had to send it back due to excessive vibration on our tile over timber floor. We tried the AEG and were happy that it does not vibrate as much as the other brand we tried. The negatives are that there as not as many features as some other brands of machine and the "installer" did a drop and go. I had to level the machine myself to a) minimise vibration when on spin and b) so the door could be left open and not swing across the walkway when left unlatched. It's a bit poor that the installer does not properly level the machine. They pushed the corners to make sure it did not rock and said their goodbyes. Should have AT LEAST used a spirit level to check the level, which made a HUGE difference to the vibration on spin.
