Grinding gouges and creaky base
The rustic look unexpectantly had some deep grinding gouges that seemed like someone didn't know how to use a sander. I'm told this is part of the look and intended. The base is made up of a couple of flimsy rails that the slats fit over rather than a sturdy center rail. These move and cause the bed to creak when you move which is very disappointing.

Love Our New Bed
We looked at a number of bed frames in a similar price bracket as this and none were as nice. We liked that there were no gaps in the wood and it has a rustic solid look to it. Was easy to put together and we have had no problems so far.
