WD External Drive not Accessible
I had purchases Western Digital Drive in August 2020, Post purchase till today, they have replaced my Hard drive 3 times for same issue ; Hard drive not accessible post 1 month of usage, every time i had lost data , and there was not drop with HDD and utmost care was taken
I had previously used WD hard drives but of small capacity (1Tb) and quality was the Exceptional, this time with High volume drives (5TB) i have faced worst quality and lost all hopes for using WD in future

WD My Passport 2TB Red just stopped working
This morning my WD My Passport 2TB Red just stopped working. It is only 11 months old. It stays in my office safe and has never been dropped or been hit by another object On this disk are ongoing projects, contracts, supply sources, accounting spreadsheets and a countless number of documents, films and photos. Tried several other External HDD cables, to no avail. Tried flushing all USB Data Device drivers on my laptop and reconnecting with different cables, to no avail. Tried to connect it on other computers several times with different cables, to no avail. Tried Data Recovery Software, to no avail. This disk is dead, not even a taskbar icon when connected. A disappointing experience to say the least.

Very disappointed lost all my data.
I was going through files on my WD passport 5TB and it stopped showing up on my computer suddenly and I cannot access my files. I tried troubleshooting it multiple times with no success. Light turns on and it won't read. I have an ancient WD elements HDD that's still going strong but this just suddenly stopped working. Judging from other reviews relatively new units suddenly cease to be recognized. Sucks that it's out of warranty and I spent so much money on a HDD for it to go out less than two years. I simply cannot recommend this product.

I hate it.
I hate this product with absolute passion. I want to plug the HD and drag my files. Instead this piece of garbage will require you to open an account, set up a plan, get a password, install an app... Layers upon layers of inconvenience in the name of "security". And let's not forget that the app will try to upsell you at every possible turn with cloud storage, data recovery plans, you name it. But wait, once you've done all the setup, it will stop working, suddenly, one day, just because. I can't believe I have invested so much time and effort in what should be an absolutely no brainer piece of hardware.

1998 called want their hard drive back
got this pre- installed on my new clx computer I just want to get rid of it! windows OS boots super slow that its nauseating. games load super slow it can barely keep up with my system in game lots of hang ups know CLX was trying to save a buck by installing this antique, but seriously ssd's have come down in price that a hdd makes no sense I know WD is appealing to a budget price point and some builders like the nostalgia of the buzzing and clicking sound of mechanical drives but I'm more into efficiency I don't like waiting 2 hours for windows updates.

Great portable storage option
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re like me, you usually run out of storage space on your electronics. WDs My passport is a game changer. Not only was I able to free up space on my computer, but I was able to easily transfer larger files from my computer to a friends. I’ve read others reviews before trying this product myself and I can vouch for the positive ones. I’ll also add that nothing is perfect and there will be issues time to time, but it sounds like the company is more than willing to help out in those situations.
My only complaint is the packaging is not the best and could be improved as the box was a little ripped up when I received it through the mail.

Really fast, reliable, sleek and classy!
I've had this for 2yrs, it started as a mass storage device for my video games, then moved to security system storage and now is my PC backup along with some other stuff. This is a beast, I love it and have disconnected it thrown it in my back pocket and used it for random on the job stuff. This baby is in a nice lil case that looks classy and sturdy, I recently just transferred around 400gb of stuff onto it and for a HD i was very impressed with how quickly my new high end super fast computer fed this baby and the HD was done very quickly (albeit not as quick as M.2 etc. but still impressive).

Passport Right Size for Safety Deposit Box
I have over 28,000 files I like to back up to my hard drive daily and I use 3 4tb Passport external hard drives to back up quarterly. I keep these 3 drives after recording all backup data, in a safety deposit box in my bank. I have the standard small box. The 3 drives fit snuggly and perfectly standing on a side edge back to back and to the very back end of the box. PERFECT FIT! These files represent over 30 years of photos, videos, and data sheets accumulated over the years. I've replaced my computer 3 times over that period and this data is safe and off sight for emergencies.
