Weeks worth of scans in less than one evening
So my new Epson FastFoto FF-680W arrived today. Eventually I opened the box, took it in my home computer room, and set it up via wireless. No effort needed. Next I grabbed a stack of about 20 old photos. Less than one minute later they were scanned. So I did another batch, then another. In a very short time I had scanned over 300 old photos. Using my flatbed scanner, that would have taken days.
If it continues to perform like it did on this first go, I am going to love this thing! I still have boxes filled with photos from my parents and grandparents (1920' - 1950's), not to mention of my kids and grandkids (1970's to present), to scan...

My search for a credible photo scanner has finally ended
I, like many of us, have a ton of photos from 1950s (parents time) till almost late 80s and needed a simple to use, high speed and smart photo scanner. Was tired of 1 picture at a time scanners that do not work with OSX and general purpose scanners that are dumb when it comes to high volume photo scanning. I finally have my problem resolved with the FF-680W. what I love is that it can handle paper scanning A4, B*, Legal and a ton of other sizes gracefully. Helps me get rid of a whole filing cabinet of files. Great job Epson. Love you guys for this product. This is now part of my dream home office set up. Sits pretty with the small foot print and is available on demand working on USB and wireless .... great product. glad I bought it....

Fast & comes with good scanning software
I've scanned about 300 photos now, in three sessions. I've owned scanners for about 20 years, with my photo scanners being flatbed. One document scanner that feeds similar to this one. This is hands down the best photo scanner I've ever owned. Fast and reliable. I really like the Epson FastFoto Software. Clean copies, often color corrected and I especially like how it prompts you at the beginning for a descriptive name to use for the folder in which it stores batches of scans.VERY helpful.

Specialized Workhorse
Digitizing family photos from last 30 years. This product just works. Waited a long time for the Epson version. 1200 dpi with enhancement takes some computer horsepower, be sure to match Epson OS version with your computer OS version for best results. Results are worth it and so easy for making digital (printed) albums.

Super Fast Quality Scanning
I purchased this scanner to archive old albums and shoe boxes full of photos. The two points that led me to choose this scanner were the scanning speed (reportedly 3 sec/photo @600dpi) and the low risk of damage to the actual photos during the process.
I've scanned around 300 photos so far with no mis-feeds, misalignment or any other issue. It has performed flawlessly to date. The wireless connection was easy to set up and I'm more than happy with my purchase.

Awesone Photo Scanner
Bought this along with an ES-60W scanner to arvhive boxes of old photos and I'm so glad I did. This machine is absolutrly amazing and fast. It scans both sides of the photo if it detects information, otherwise it skips the backside. It came with a carrier sheet to use with frayed, odd sized, turn clippings and etc..
I highly recommend this scanner to anyone wishing to scan lots of photos. It has saved me many, many days of work due the speed and capability.
The only complaint, is that I wish you could change the file path and name descrioption from the scan button screen, rather than selecting Done andventering the settings option.
I would also, suggest getting the ES-60W scanner for scanning photos to thick (Poloroid) or too small to feed through the FastFoto scanner. You'll thank me for it. I have over 6000 photos to archive.

A Real time saver
We bought the Epson scanner to san some family albums that were fading and/or were in bad shape. The scanner was very fast and did a better job than expected. I scanned everything on the 600 dpt because some would need to be resized for printing.
I selected the original and enhanced but In the future the enhanced only will probably be the best since thee were only 10 out of 300 that the original was better.
in most cases a photo editing program was needed to improve the picture but it beats using a flatbed scanner any day I will continue to use my Epson flat bed scanner for critical work.

AMAZING Scanner!
Has all the features you're looking for in a fast photo and document scanner. I struggled for years with the NEAT System and decided to dump them after they demanded I connect my data to the cloud. I'm SO glad I did!! This scanner is much faster, has SO many features for photo enhancing and is by far the best product on the market.
I've had it for a year and it had a software glitch so I've just uninstalled the software and reinstalled it, but other than that it has worked like a dream. I'm getting rid of 100's of pounds of paper and photos using this system.
