Great for NZ ConditionsPreviously had one MJ-E16 unit, got another as these units are brilliant at purifying the air whilst dehumidifying. Another pronounced feature is that this unit will replace a stand-alone air purifier. (Filter replacement / cleaning is simple too - recommend to check manual for details)
The price is reasonable, and Consumer NZ rates this product as 'does okay' because compared to other desiccant dehumidifiers it does not remove as much water.
Pros of MJ-E16
- Lighter weight, ~11kg vs ~13kg
- 1db Quieter
- Slimmer
- Can be nearly as loud as MJ-E22
- Reliable (less than 1% failure rate in 12 months)
Cons
- No Castor wheels
- Less removal of water
- No "High" mode, but Low Temp / Laundry give a louder 41db which is near 47db high mode on MJ-E22

works wellI bought this dehumidifier 8mths ago and since this time it has made significant reductions in humidity levels. Designed for smaller houses it is suitably quiet for use at night and makes for a dryer living environment.

Great dehumidifier but quite noisyWe have been renting this same dehumidifier for 3 years but with the arrival of a baby, we decided we wanted to have our own as it keeps the room dry all night. It does its job of dehumidifying a room perfectly well but on the down side, it is quite noisy. It took us a while to get used to the level of noise at night. Baby doesn't mind tough ;)
