This was bought to replace an old Hitachi. Overall I like it and it cooks beautifully, easy to clean so as an appliance I absolutely recommend it.
My gripes are that the documentation could be improved. I would like to see some temperature vs time graphs for different functions. Keep in mind many of us cook far more than just rice plus get some recipes out! I have watched Marion Grasby : https://www.youtube.com/@PanasonicAustralia but more would be nice.
Some answers to simple questions like "How do I reheat food" would be good. What setting? More to the point why isn't there a reheat function?

Panasonic Ricemaker SR-CN188WST
I bought this rice cooked a couple of weeks ago and have used it twice since. It is very easy to use and the rice is cooked to perfection. I have cooked both arborio white rice and glutinous/sticky rice in it, so far. I was a little dubious about cooking sticky rice the bowl as I normally steamed it in my old rice cooker. You could also steam it in the steaming basket, if preferred. However, it was cooked to my satisfaction in the bowl.
I am looking forward to trying some of the recipes in the recipe booklet in the future.
I recommend this rice cooker.

More Than Just A Rice Cooker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had a number of rice cookers overs the years and this Panasonic unit is the best yet. It makes beautiful rice every time but you can do so so much more with it. Add some dumplings, bok choi, season with soy and cook on the clay pot setting to make a great meal with beautifully textured rice base combined with fluffy rice. Check the Panasonic website for lots of inspiration for how you can do so much more than just cook rice.
I was concerned that the 5 cup model would be too small but for our family of there it’s perfect.
Easy to use and importantly very easy to clean.

I didn't think there were much difference between rice cookers but I was wrong. I'm happy with this Panasonic rice cooker. Rice is cooked perfectly and tasty !
Thank you Panasonic again. At my house, when something is broken, we replace with Panasonic products.

Perfectly cooked rice
I was given this Rice Cooker by Panasonic to test, this is my review after two weeks of use: The SR-CN188WST Rice Cooker is quite a cumbersome unit, making it best suited to a family with a lot of spare bench space. A minimum of two cups of rice must be cooked at a time which is not ideal if you're eating solo. The markings on the inner pot are very useful, ensuring the perfect amount of water is added for the intended recipe, whether it's steamed white rice, brown rice or porridge. I found the menu quite straightforward and easy to navigate. The cooking time for two cups of rice is approximately 40-50 minutes, which seems like an excessively long time compared to other rice cookers I have used, however it's worth the wait as it produces rice that is perfectly textured, deliciously light and fluffy. It's also ideal for cooking short grain rice for sushi, with the addition of a little extra water and using the 'soft' rice setting. Additionally, I've found this rice cooker works well for cooking soup, bread (which can be crisped in the oven for a crunchy crust), and steaming vegetables to serve with the rice. Pros: Light and fluffy textured rice, consistently cooked to perfection. Cons: Bulky machine, cooking takes a long time, a lot of parts to disassemble and clean.

Rice cooker
So far so good. Easy to clean and pretty good quality. Have had expensive Korean rice cooker in the past. This is holding its own so far. Hope to have plenty of rice on hand for years to come.
