No turntable has pros and cons
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement microwave for a previous Panasonic that lasted more than 10 years. The new one works well and the lack of turntable is a simpler design that provides more space. However it doesn't appear to cook as evenly as the prvious model. This might be because dishes don't have the benefit of the rotation. The absence of the autosensor cooking means you are required to input weights (in significant increments) for it to cook things like frozen meals. This is definitely a disadvantage. The lighting is also strange. There is only one light that is in an odd location. So only a portion of the oven is illuminated.

Another great Panasonic microwave!
I recently purchased this flatbase model after my old turn table microwave gave up the ghost. I can't complain though, as it lasted more than 10 years (panasonic too).
I am thrilled with the increased capacity due to the flat base. Very easy to use and does not take up excess space & looks sleek & modern (I have s/steel model).
I look forward to many years of trouble-free cooking!

brilliant flat bed microwave
Would not go back to a turntable microwave, to that end bought my second Panasonic flat bed microwave as a back up in case anything goes wrong with my first one. Absolutely love it, easy to clean, fits more than my old 35ltr one, this one is 27ltr but because of the flat bed no wasted space. Seems to heat up food quicker, no cool spots and Panasonic quality, very happy.

If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is!
I bought this microwave with great expectations! The whole idea of no turntable was a deal winner! Unfortunately, over time, I find thus microwave to be the biggest disappointment of my kitchen appliance purchasing history. It is slow to cook anything - if it heats it up more than lukewarm. To then try to use it to heat again immediately is absolutely a nightmare.
For example:- my husband put it onto full power for 5 min to heat up a meat pie and it was only just hot. I then tried to heat up mine and after 5 min it was still frozen in the middle!! Totally unacceptable performance from a microwave.
My first microwave was a National and it heated perfectly for more than 20 years without missing a beat.
It is really disappointing that with all the technological advances - this is the best Panasonic could do???

Ruined the Panasonic brand for me
Owned for 3 years, has worked poorly since the warranty period passed. Food is never evenly cooked and the results are inconsistent. The door is an absolute pain to operate and as a result of requiring excessive force to close, has now interfered with the operation of the microwave as a whole and its time to replace it. I have always owned Panasonic, but am trying an alternate brand as they still have not got the idea that slamming a microwave door just so it closes, is not ideal.

I'm not sure I would buy it again
Its a great microwave but the internal plastic liner on the door melted and exposed the metal surface with the usual result. A bit disappointing given it was only 16 months old and well looked after.
