No your base station is not in midair outside.
Less than a month in. Very frustrating and about to return.Cleaning is OK. Escept for the filth it leaves around the base station. But it is endlessly maddening how it changes the location of its base station every day. Doesnt recognise the ares that you block off in it's software and combines multiple rooms with walls between into one. I read all the reviews and saw there were mapping problems but didn't realize it would be this bad. TBF its one software update away from being great. It does avoid any kids toys you accidentally leave around. And aside from the 50cm or so around the base station does clean well. When it isn't getting stuck in places it shouldn't be going to or don't exist.

T20 - Definitely worth the money
This is definitely worth the money. I specifically got this a my dog sheds a lot and I was having to vacuum every day. The T20 has great suction and I love how I can set it to vacuum and mop and not have to worry about attaching the mop pads. The mop pads just lift up when it goes on the carpet or rugs. Definitely purchase the cleaning solution as you can see the difference it makes. It was very easy to set up and map the house. It can take a few goes to completely map. I wasn’t sure at first if I would still have to vacuum the corners, but the brushes really get into those corners. I haven’t had to pull my other vacuum out and my floors look fantastic. If you are sick of vacuuming everyday this is definitely worth spending the money on.

Amazing machine
This thing has completely taken the floors off my mental load. I have a very clean house all day everyday even though I have a toddler and a dog ! It’s a great little thing and very entertaining to watch it do it’s thing. The self emptying and cleaning add on is just a cherry on top really. Absolutely love it. That said, it doesn’t do a perfect job. There’s gonna be corners and small areas that it can’t fully reach, it struggles too much on our shaggy rug so I just roll it up when it’s doing the living room. It also has some senior moments of taking random routes or cleaning rooms I didn’t program it to. Nothing that takes away from its value and would still 100% recommend. I will still use my normal vacuum but perhaps once a month instead of every three days.

This robot is overworked and underpaid. I was sceptical that he would get our tiled areas streak free in the mopping mode- but it does a fantastic job. The technology used makes life so easy- mapping function allows you later to select what rooms you want it to clean, housekeeper mode, deep or standard cleans etc. The only fault is his "voice recognition", I've gave up using that and just rely on my phone to navigate it.

Very impressed with the operation of this vacuum cleaner. The mapping of the house was spot on and the mopping pads work well. The app and its set up are not so easy, there should be more information supplied about the apps function and use. All in all very happy

It does a great job, very happy with the results!
A bit annoying that it only comes with the basics, no spare mop pads, not spare dust bags and no floor cleaning detergent. But otherwise really happy!

Life-Changing Appliance
The Ecovacs has changed my life. This may seem like an exaggeration, but I get up every morning and my kitchen, dining room and laundry floors are vacuumed and mopped, there isn't a cat hair to be seen on the floor which means it doesn't have the chance to waft into other areas of the house where the cats aren't, and it's made my entire home feel fresh. The vacuum and mop goes under the beds well and has sorted out the dust that accumulates on the wooden floors. Highly recommended.
