Furious with Sonos over this AMP.I have long owned Sonos products and have always upgraded and expanded my system when necessary. Recently, I replaced to older Sonos Connect Amps with the new AMP to prepare for S2. They arrived and I installed them. Immediately I had a right channel issue with distortion in one of the AMPs upon start-up. I checked all connections. I swapped right and left channels to different speakers...Same problem. New amp. Sonos refuses to swap it out. I've contacted them twice. Horrible way to treat customers. I have about 10K in Sonos equipment. They should be treating customers better.

Great sound for streaming...meh for vinylI bought this amp to compliment my new ProJect turntable and Bowers & Wilkins speakers. I waited for over a month for it to arrive, which was not a big deal to me since I have an older Yamaha receiver I could use in the meantime. Once the amp arrived, I hooked it up, made a few adjustments to the equalizer and adjusted the source level but could never get to the richness, depth, dimension, that my Yamaha produced in straight analog mode; specifically while playing vinyl. Conversely, while streaming music it sounded amazing. As such, I will likely get a port for my turntable and old receiver setup and use the amp for some ceiling speakers in an upcoming kitchen remodel.

S2 transforms older system + Fantastic tech supportI replaced a connect:amp with the S2 compatible Amp so that I could use the S2 app. I have 10 Sonos components and attempted the install of Amp by following Sonos online support, but I was not successful. I called tech support and the most patient. Knowledgeable person helped me install Amp and reset my entire system. The difference between S1 and S2 is remarkable, producing a richer, better balanced sound through both old and new components. I have had my Sonos system for 7 years, and I enjoy it every day. It is reliable and easy to control. But when I have a problem, Sonos tech support is fantastic!

Simple to set up and useThis is a great product (albeit pricey) for wirelessly streaming your music. It generally set up quite easily, finding my network and applying all necessary settings and OTA updates on its own. The app is also user friendly and easy enough to navigate. The only CON I will note was the difficulty I had in attempting to connect the AMP to a different network than what it was originally registered on. It required me hardlining it into my router which was quite a hassle for my set up (particularly when the intent of this device is to be "wireless" for connectivity). The product should enable you to switch networks wireless as required.

This company is a sad shadow of who they wereI really can't believe my recent experiences with these guys. My old amp was determined unworthy by Sonos, and as they made S1 harder and harder to use, I realized I'd have to bit the bullet and buy a new amp. First, moving to S2 was awful. On the first service call they tried to blame my router. It's their new idea - to blame anything except their equipment. I finally set up a new account and started from scratch, and 4 hours later everything finally worked. Then a few weeks later, the amp started making a loud thump and switching down, typical of a capacitor being defective somewhere. FIVE HOIRS AND FOUR REPS LATER they finally gave me n RMA. Im done with them, when S3 comes along all this stuff goes in the trash.

Just a Sonos Connect:Amp with bigger price tagI've used (and installed) Sonos products for years and have found them to be pricey but the sound quality and app made it justifiable. However, with the discontinuation of the Connect:Amp and the introduction of its replacement, the Amp, I am left wondering whether Sonos is still worth it. Yes, the Amp does have more power and (potentially) cleaner signal path and better audio processing but these are marginal gains. The biggest omission? No optical/digital input. Why they didn't take the opportunity to allow full digital integration in the signal path I do not understand. The other main issue is the price and I'm not sure the additional price tag makes this worth using anymore, especially when there are such good alternatives as the Yamaha MusicCast or Denon HeOS systems out there.

User friendly interface & excellent sound.We bought a Sonos Amp, Playbar and Subwoofer to pair with our TV and in-ceiling speakers. We could not be happier. We have a rather challenging residential floorplan that did not lend itself to using our beloved standing floor speakers, so we installed the more flexible Sonos system that has proven to work exceptionally well. We are very pleased with the sound of the system, but what is best about the Sonos system is the user interface. The Sonos app is super easy to use on our phones and laptops, and syncs seamlessly with all the connected devices, including the cable TV remote! Very impressive design and performance, Sonos.

DefectiveAfter 6 months of working with technical support I can only conclude that this product is defective. I have 2 Sonos amps. They stay connected for a few weeks at best and then need to be reset to connect to the WiFi. I've probably wasted about 5 hours on calls with technical support getting the run around. I've tried using different routers with tons of different settings. We have no connectivity issues with any other the other 6+ devices in our house. It's pretty sad because the product could be great otherwise.
