Stunning![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 83" A80L is absolutely amazing! Picture/motion quality is next level! The sound on the tv is very impressive too with no need to rush and get a soundbar. This tv makes watching any movie, show or sports even more exciting. Everything looks so smooth and clear.
Setting the tv up was a breeze too. Everything connected straight away for me through my google nest set up.
I've had this tv for about 3 weeks and can't recommend this enough.

Great picture[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted to watch premier league soccer, so decided to upgrade from my Panasonic.
Does not have PiP or twin tuners for recording other programmes, these are probably the only things I will miss. When you look at a T.V. In a store the picture is great only to be a little disappointed after setting up in the home, with the A80L this was not the case. The picture is what all T.V.s should be, truly amazing.
The set up was easy, though still getting use to navigating the remote, not because it’s difficult but because it’s quite different and yet so simple.
Extremely happy with the purchase.

Disappointed[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit a month ago believing basic features of my three other Sonys would have been maintained. The picture met my expectations but the feature that allowed me to listen at higher volume on heaphones while others enjoyed programs at "normal" levels had gone. Had I realised this failing I would not have bought. Figures I have seen indicate hearing loss increases from about half of those aged 60 to 70, to 70% of those aged 70 and over, and 80% of those aged 80 and over. I am 80. I can still enjoy music on the excellent sound-bar but much dialogue is lost

Not greatBought this TV 2 months ago. Apps often freeze and will not load. Moved house and had internet speeds of 20 mbps. TV will not work with these internet speeds. 2 calls to the help line and one escalation. 5 Factory resets. No help from Sony. TV often says no internet connection when there is. Google home does not work with it. Had to work out myself that it is the internet speed. Changed internet provider and TV works better now. Apps still freeze and don’t always load. Nice clear picture when working. Only buy if you have good fast internet speeds, which rules out most of Australia.

Fantastic[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 1 month ago through the Sony store with a huge discount as the box had damage? The damage was not obvious & once unpacked was in perfect condition so needless to say I'm very happy! The colours really pop out & the true blacks really add to the overall viewing experience. There's no real video playback controls, it's mostly done with the centre directional control which can be a bit clumsy at times. Setup & adding apps was very easy. Sound quality is good although I'm now running through a sound bar.

WOW, Just WOW!We went to the Boxing Day sales to buy a chest freezer, saw this TV and decided to spoil ourselves and upgrade our 55 inch Sony TV to this fabulous 77 inch OLED beauty!
I am happy to report that Sony stuck has it, as this TV is excellent! The picture is crystal clear, so much so my husband and I had a giggle when we noticed how many wrinkles we noticed on everyone!
The colours are amazing, the picture is crystal clear, the best I have seen, I really cannot fault it. The Home Screen is great, I love how you can search a type of movie, or show, and all the available options are displayed, showing you what app you can watch it on, how much it is, or if it’s free.
Highly recommend this TV, definitely a winner in our house.

Amazing upgrade[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having our previous Sony Oled TV since 2018 we decided to upgrade to the 55 inch A80L and what a difference. The picture is superb and while we had no issue with previous TV this model leaves it for dead. Much of our viewing is 4k whether streaming or with 4k Ultra HD discs and the improvement in picture is very pronounced especially with Dolby Vision so much brighter than before. Upscaling is excellent with bluray especially being a much better picture. Whenever we buy a new TV it has for years been a Sony which has always been an improvement on the previous model. In summary the A80L has a superb natural picture together with excellent sound and is very easy to operate.

Good quality tv[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tv before Christmas.
The quality is good as expected. The lack of usb and older type jack unable me to connect to an old dvd player directly to the tv.
Sound quality is not as good as older style tv. Additional Sound bar and sub woofer is recommended to match the quality of the picture.
On the other hand, I think only minor differences between a normal 4k tv and Oled quality tv for normal tv/older movie watching. Hopefully, I can experience more goodies on oled tv in future.
