Love this machine!
I'm almost glad our other washing machine blew up (after a pipe burst and water got in). This one is amazing! Gone is the central spinner - it's like a front loader, but on top. It washes the clothes beautifully and is gentle. It does take longer, but there is a quick option if you need, and I don't notice a difference in cleaning quality. If there was one drawback it's that the lid is heavy so make sure it's fully open otherwise it will fall on you.

MY NEW F & P 8kg Top Loader Washing Machine!
I love my new F & P 8kg washing machine, it's efficient, has TWO filters, not just one which has been great for the number of sheets/towels I do regularly and the filters are easy to remove and clean. I can easily fit a Q/S Doona in there and have it wash properly! (No tide lines!) Have also washed cushions which have come out like new! The quick wash is great for everyday items. There are also multiple other wash cycle choices for you to use. I allow my machine to dry out and then keep a cover over the machine to protect it and keep it always looking new!

Have had better.
Not very impressed with this machine. This is my third fisher paykel washingmachine in probably 15 years. Other two have had agitators, not this one. Previous ones were 6.5kg. New one is 9kg, but doesn't have as much capacity. What I could do in two loads in smaller capacity now takes me 3 loads,so using more water. Need to use warm water now to get a cleaner wash. Even then the wash is not as clean as I would like. Wish now I kept my old one and had it repaired. Had it for 18 years too. Never needed any repairs in that time.

Good, but wish F&P still made the old trusty model
No agitator is great. Haven’t had any loads of washing go “off balance”.
There have been a few loads we have done where there is a small amount of powder residue in folds of clothes - so the rinse doesn’t seem as good as our previous old-school F&P machine. But we haven’t had that too often, and it may be down to user error (ie, kids having clothes half inside out etc).
The soft close lid seems a bit stupid and unnecessary, as it’s not an appliance where you close the lid and walk away … you have to wait for it to close slowly (or force it) in order to push the buttons. A solution looking for a problem.
Annoying that a load takes longer. Our old F&P machine’s regular cycle took 30mins, this machine’s regular (“mixed”) cycle is about an hour. Not sure what advantage we are getting with longer cycle time (does it use less power? Less water? Who knows!). But slightly annoying in a home that does a lot of washing to have the time doubled.

I preferred my old Fisher & Paykel washing machine
I have always had Fisher & Paykel washing machines. Unfortunately this one doesn't allow for drip drying clothes as even when you "hold" the spin, it drains so hard that the clothes are not wet enough to drip dry. If you want to take them out dripping you have to interrupt the cycle and hope you have stopped it at the right time. The fast spin leaves clothes very wrinkled, but the mid speed spin leaves them so damp they take forever to dry.

Terrible Washing Machine. Tangles clothes
Not a Good Machine dirt and lint left on clothes, and lint filters need to be changed after every wash. Very long cycles. Husbands white shirts came out with Lint and dirt all over them in a cotton cycle. Seriously the worst machine ever. I have always had Fisher and Paykel but not anymore. Shame. I have been credited the amount back and now trying and LG. Hopefully this will be better and not as harsh on my clothes.

The machine has the same capacity as my last one but is a smaller unit and much better looking. Two things I don’t like but am getting used to : the lid locks as soon as the wash begins so no adding an extra item without pausing the cycle. Spin speed must be lower because clothes are slightly wetter at the end. Also normal cycle is longer than the last machine so frequently using the quick cycle.
