Perfect for Beginner/intermediate
I have had this camera since February and have been absolutely loving it. The photo quality produced along with the Canon Lens I purchased are superior to anything I’ve worked with to date. I think at the price point, it is jam packed with features making it good for any beginner or intermediate photographer. The UI is very easy to navigate and all in all makes for a good shooting experience. My only complaint with this camera is that it does not have an AF joystick but you can get around that by using the touchscreen. I would rate it 4.5 stars if possible but since I only have the one issue, I will give it 5.

Lightweight and easy to use
I bought this camera bundled with the kit lens as an all day walk around camera only to discover a week later that I’d spent my money on a model that doesn’t support third party lenses, and the Canon lenses are way overpriced and beyond my budget, so I’m left with nothing but the kit lens it came with. Not a happy Canon owner. I’m now back to using my Nikon equipment because I can’t afford any of the very limited range of non-kit lenses available for the R8. I would only recommend this camera to someone who is already aware of Canon’s monopoly on the limited lens range for their R model cameras.

Amazing entry level full frame body
Canon has given a great full frame body at a good price point. I am very impressed with it so far and enjoying photography. The accuracy and flexibility of the autofocus is fantastic in comparison to the APS-C bodies I had used in the past. The option of using the flip screen instead of the viewfinder opens up all kinds of creative possibilities.
I like the way I can use my iPhone as a remote using the Canon app and also for uploading photos without having to remove the SD card.
I did consider the Sony range of mirrorless cameras, but not go for that. I am probably more comfortable with the Canon ecosystem. The only negative point about the R8 seems to be the battery life which is not very great.

Happy with the R8
I just bought the R8 a month ago and I must say that this is designed for an enthusiast photographer like me, it provides extra depth of field rather than others cropped cameras, it has 24.2 mp but with DigicX I believe that the result of the picture can be sharper than the old ones and good ISO processing, it focus the eyes of the subject promptly and you can never miss a shot. I really enjoyed the packaging of Canon R8, its function and build quality. I have trusted Canon since 2015 and so far I am still happy with it, to me Canon is the best brand you can have at the moment!

Video and Photo Powerhouse
Purchased the Canon EOS R8 due to the exceptional video capabilities at this price point. The HDR PQ 4k 60fps recording format is incredible and I have been blown away by the final quality output of the video. As an added bonus the photography side of this camera is great in low light and the noise even at higher ISO levels is minimal. The auto focus system is very accurate and fast and rarely missed focus while shooting at low aperture, even in very low light conditions. Overall, this camera in my opinion is a lot better than it should be in this price point.

GreSuper focussing power !
I wanted small, light, compact(ish) but great low light and auto focussing and the R8 is it for me. So much more than I expected when paired with a simple, light weight IS zoom lens. Originally i thought lack of in body stabilisation would be an issue but as I dont switch lens much, (even when i had multiple EF primes on previous camera) I know it is not as important to me as cost/weigth/size ! Small batery issues bypassed with an Anker 537 powerbank (powercore 24k for laptop) !!!!

Pro Camera Packed Into a Compact Camera Body
The Canon EOS R8 is amazing value for money, it's Canon's smallest modern full-frame mirrorless camera and one of the most versatile. It's an awesome travel or street photography setup when coupled with the RF 35mm or the even smaller RF 28mm pancake lens. Yet, it packs the powerful internals and cutting edge autofocus of its bigger brother, the EOS R6 Mark II, making it suitable for serious professional work. I upgraded to the R8 almost a year ago, and have been using it with the equally versatile RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM and RF 85mm f/2 Macro IS STM lenses for photography work that's published in a leading national gardening magazine, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier with the results. This is seriously big camera performance from a small camera body. Highly recommended!
