Upgrading from the Panasonic G9 and Gh5s I was ambivalent about leaving the Micro Four Thirds system xD I was a bit hesitant but so glad I purchased the Panasonic S5! Paired with the Sigma 85mm and 35mm f1.4 I could instantly see the difference in quality! Very sharp in the centre to beautiful/creamy bokeh. Autofocus is a little bit slower at times but once you tweak it to Sensitivy +3, Speed -2 it seemed to help lock on quicker :) The Panasonic S Pro 70-200mm (with the Teleconverter) and Panasonic S Pro 50mm are sooo great as well! Such a well rounded camera :) Well done Panasonic!

Minor focus issues that are being sorted, a truly great all rounder for the modern creator.

Between the both two, i love the colors and sharpness of lumix s5 , i got total blown away seeing the color science. This is my first device and i am in love with it. Though i had shot mostly in natural profile the options to control saturation , sharpness , shadows ,noise reduction work really well. I am still learning to use it , but honestly more i am exploring it , more i am loving it!!! I am from a small town of India, want to be a documentary maker in future.This is my first step. there is plethora of features, which is fun to explore and try-out , i want to use v-log someday and create a visual treat some-day. This device never cease to amuse me. Thanks lumix,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Panasonic DC-S5 WORK HORSE I purchased this absolutely top quality, portable and reliable camera recently and it rocks my world. It comes with a full frame sensor, a new, handy and accurate autofocus system with 24MP, and will bring you amazing results. I am a street photography, mainly taking pictures of graffiti and videos of street scenes on my worldly travels, and the S5 never lets me down. No other camera at this price point will give you such superb video aswell as vibrant still images! The features on it are neverending. And all this comes at an affordable price point. Look no further if you are a beginner/intermediate or advance photographer and/or filmmaker. This camera is designed to appease both. This camera won’t disappoint you and it’s super light and reliable plus lenses from many other camera modes are easily interchangeable with this guy! Stop searching and lock it in!

It’s packed with features, many of which I may not use yet until my photography skills get better, but the main reason I bought this outstanding camera is that it’s so easy to use. Even as an amateur, my photos turn out with professional quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great great great [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the LUMIX S5II for a few months now, mainly for portraits and everyday photography, and it’s been a really solid camera for my needs. What I like most is how natural the images look straight out of camera. The colours feel balanced and skin tones don’t need much work in post, which is something I care about a lot when shooting people. Autofocus has been reliable for both photos and video. It’s not something I have to think about anymore, which makes shooting more relaxed, especially when working alone. The body feels well built and comfortable to hold for long sessions. The menus took a bit of time to get used to at first, but once I learned my way around, everything made sense. Overall, it’s a camera I enjoy using rather than constantly adjusting. It doesn’t get in the way, and that’s probably the best compliment I can give it.

So many pro level features on both the video and stills side. With ongoing firmware upgrades that many of the mainstream DSLR manufacturers are slow to release.

Leica/Panasonic glass plus loads of new options from Sigma is all you need. Image stabilisation is better than Sony - auto focus a bit weaker but certainly not a deal breaker.
