WISH IT PRINTED DOUBLE SIDED.
I am happy with the ink system in this printer. There are a couple of things I don’t like better than my old printer.
1. Having to print with HP Smart print is not always easy. On my old HP I could just select print from a doc for example. Don’t seem to be able to do that now - have to save the document first.
2. The first page takes ages to get to print.
3. It doesn’t have the option to print double-sided. Such a waste of paper. Obviously I should have read the full spec more carefully but this is the thing that makes this printer “average” for me. Wish I had spent more for the next model up.

Good Printer - Fair Price
Lets start by saying I am a baby boomer but not totally ignorant when it come to computers and things. I found the set up instructions a little off. Some of the sites that I was directed to were different than shown in the directions and did not react as described in the manual. I found it much easier to set up the printer using a printer cable first.(That was very fast- once I gave up on the manual instructions) It went much smoother and I was able to set up the wireless feature later. The printer prints as you would expect - nice clear images and text. The ink was easy to load and it seems this process will be much better than buying ink cartridges. Have had this for about 2 weeks now and I am completely satisfied with this purchase.

Cheap to run
So far a better printer & cheaper to run than my old HP6100 series. I have 2 issues however, the first is the capacity of the paper tray, its abysmal, the second is that the printer advertises double sided printing, I assumed it was similar to the 6100, which automatically printed the reverse side of pages. Unfortunately the 5100 require manual removal of 1st side printed & then replacing that side into the feed tray correctly, the diagram provided is very misleading & makes double sided printing cumbersome & slow. Not impressed at all with that issue.

Good reliable printer
Purchased this printer a few weeks ago and so far so good. The only thing we didn’t check is that it does not do double sided and our last very old printer did this. We should have checked. Other than that it does a good job. Easily installed and works well.

“Easy Setup, Clear Prints, and Zero Hassle”
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just started using the HP Smart Tank 5104, and I’m honestly impressed with how smooth everything has been so far. The setup was quick, the ink tanks were super easy to fill, and I love that I can actually see the ink levels from the front of the printer. The printing quality is sharp for documents and nice and vibrant for color pages. It also connects to Wi-Fi easily, so I’ve already printed straight from my phone without needing any cables. So far, it’s quiet, clean, and really feels like the kind of printer that’ll save me money on ink in the long run. Definitely happy with this purchase!

Fast and easy set up. High quality printing
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super exited to try out the HP Smart Tank 5104. Previously I always had cartridge printers and the ink went fast especially having two kids in school. The ink on the HP Smart Tank 5104 is super easy to refil but it also lasts a long time which is great. The printer was very easy to set up and is even easy enough for my grade school aged children to use without needing any help. It prints in high quality and also can scan any documents you need copies of. The HP app is super easy to set up and very easy to navigate. It’s highly rated for a reason. Overall this is a great printer.

Average Printer
I see the major advantage of this printer as the infrequency of the ink replacement. I was able to get it loaded with ink, and up and running fairly easily. However, every time I use it, first it has to "wake up", which takes a minute, and then it has LOTS of whirring and clicking and clanking noises when it actually prints. The quality of the print has been very good so far.

So far so good!
I have had other HP printers in the past and I was getting tired of constantly buying ink cartridges. I like that the ink in this ink tank printers goes a long way before needing to replace/refill them. The print quality is good and it prints faster than my old ink jet printers. I think the only caveat with this printer (and I didn't realize it until I used it) was that you have to manually flip the paper over to print both sides, whereas my old inkjet printers did that automatically. Other than that, it's pretty solid. It was easy to set up and connect to my computer and wifi.
