Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding My second HRM pro. First one lost in transition somewhere. This is a really good monitor. I have a Garmin watch now - so can’t comment on its compatibility with other watches for cadence - I’ve had it with an Apple Watch Ultra and cadence did not come up - but I didn’t dig too deep into it. Battery life is great but easy to replace anyway. Sits well on the chest. I haven’t used it with a swim suit so don’t know much about swimming with it. Haven’t definitely got it drenched in the rain with no issues. Would recommend this to a friend.

I did an hour of muay thai and it said I had only burned 54 calories. Seems I have somd troubleshooting to do. On the other hand, my husband has one and he rates it, hence why I got one for myself

So far I am finding the readings more accurate than the wrist based HRM on my watch. The strap is comfy, but it does take a while to get used to if not accustomed to wearing a chest HRM

Thanks for your question. Yes, you can connect a Garmin HRM-Pro heart rate monitor to an Apple device using Bluetooth. You can also share data from your Garmin Connect account with Apple Health for syncing. Trust this helps! ^CO

what is the strap made of please? Also is it possible to use this stand alone without synch to any device?

Thanks for your question Abby. Garmin don't actually state the strap composition, however, it does use the same strap as the HRM-TRI. These straps are made from an elastic dual-layer antimicrobial nylon weave that allows moisture to escape, and plastic to house the unit. Trust this helps! ^CO
