Russell Hobbs Addison kettle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an amazing kettle, not only does it make the perfect coffee/tea it also has a keep warm setting, and as a busy mum this feature comes in handy!
Compared to my old kettle this beauty is a lot quieter and gives a little beep when it has finished boiling with is great if your in another room you can duck out and pour that perfect cuppa from its multi heat settings.
Would 100% recommend this kettle!

An extremely disappointing product.
I purchased this kettle as my wife was keen to try a kettle with different water temperature heating options.
The kettle works, it boils water, and if measured, I am sure that you would find that it heats/boils to the desired temperature.
However, the temperature markings are poorly applied. As previous reviews have stated, the markings just started wearing off, when the base was wiped to clean and dry splashes and so on. Wiped with just a water dampened kitchen sponge. No chemicals or detergents have been used.
Furthermore, the metallic paint or colouring used on the inside of the buttons has been literally falling off inside the kettle.
All of this, within two months of purchase! That’s just really ridiculously poor quality!
Also as other reviewers have mentioned, the kettle is not particularly intuitive. As in, you fill the kettle, place it on the base, and then select which temperature you want the water heated to. That works and is great. But, when the kettle is “asleep” (no lights on any buttons) you have to press the button corresponding to the temperature you want your water heated to. Not once, but twice. Added to the beeping noise made at every turn, the kettle is also quite loud whilst boiling.
Overall, an extremely disappointing product.

A smart looking kettle in matte black, large press button opening lid - so easy to fill. Water gauge on front is also great. All the different temperatures are a bit gimmicky really and this kettle loves to beep. When u lift it off the base and when u put it back on. When it boils as well! Cant see the point in all these beeps really but a quick quiet boil. Looks smart in its black matte stainless steel finish. Purchased in a sale at a good price :-)

Quiet handy kettle

The keep warm function is perfect for this mum who regularly gets distracted and doesn't have to reboil the kettle over and over again. My favourite feature is its quiet. It doesn't beep loudly or boil water for a long time meaning I can enjoy an early morning coffee without waking the kids.

Has 5 different temperature controls for a range of teas and coffee. Also a keep warm function. Very easy to use. Very impressed. There is but one detail I must point out. Having a metal spout on kettle, is not a good idea as it is extremally hot when water is boiled and easy to burn your hand. Must take care.

The matte black colour makes a great addition to your kitchen and looks very presentable without the typical marks left behind on a stainless steel kettle. The kettle boil time is very quick and quiet, I barely noticed the kettle boiling. The kettle comes with various functionalities in terms of the drink you are preparing, allowing you to tailor the water temperature to the drink you are making. I find this particularly useful in differentiating between coffee vs tea blends. I loved the keep warm function and being able to keep my boiled water warm for fellow house members or guests to later have a hot drink. Overall, I found the kettle to offer everything I would look for in a kettle; functionality, ease of use, and style. Very happy!

Awesome value kettle.
Love this kettle. Sleek looking quiet boiling kettle. Love that it has all the different temperatures for the different drinks and of course a hot water can now be filled at optimum temperature- no more guesswork. Slightly annoying feature having to push buttons twice to get it going and it does have a lot of beeps. The keep warm function is also quite helpful. Did get it on a good sale so good value for money.

Super stylish, easy to use handy kettle.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Russell Hobbs Addison Kettle in Matte Black is gorgeous to look at. Would look great on any kitchen bench. (Even mine that was made in the 70s)
The only issue I found with the matte black was the lid had water spots left from steam that had dried after pouring. A quick wipe solved the issue.
I am a soy milk drinker due to dietary issues and I love being able to select a temperature for the water. When making a coffee with soy milk if the water is too hot the milk splits and is really unpleasant to drink.
The temperature functions were also super handy for different herbal teas and even just regular tea.
When operating the kettle is reasonably quiet. I used cask water that has a really low calcium content which does help stop build up in kettles that can make then operate louder.
Overall a super stylish, easy to use and handy kettle.

Not a great product but the price was OK Thanks HN
Brought a week ago and not very impressed at all. This is my third smart kettle and second Russell Hobbs. The Addison Digital is by far the loudest kettle I have ever owned, just over 60dB at 1meter distance. Another issue is the kettle is not easy to reposition on the base. The older kettles had a slightly larger location fitting incorporating a angular lead in that was so much easier.

Ultra light weight

The only thing is it’s got a small length cord. I love the different temperatures for different hot drinks. Keep warm is a great add on. It is quiet and doesn’t take that long. This technophobe is hooked!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the kettle but I don't love it. I'm really glad I've had the chance to try it but it isn't a product I would buy. The main thing I don't like about it is that I am left handed and I have a habit of always leaving the kettle positioned for me to pick up with my left hand - there is only a water level indicator on one side of the kettle so I am left looking at a plain black kettle, it would have been great if they could have included a water level indicator on both sides of the kettle for the price of it. Also it is fairly big with the base on it & my Husband and Myself both found it hard to line up the kettle to get it back onto the base after using it, most other kettles I have used go on easy, this kettle you really need to be almost precise to get it back on. I do love all the groovy heat settings and aside from missing a water indicator it does look good.

Time Saving Appliance
I first purchased my Addison Digital Kettle a few years ago. Love the time saving of not having to wait for the kettle to boil with it's keep hot selection. This also helps to keep my Electricity Bill lower due to not having to constantly boiling the kettle. The matt black fits into my kitchen decor and has a pleasing appearance. This is my go to kettle of choice.

Awesome kettle
Had this kettle for a little while. It is awesome! It doesn’t calculate quantum physics… it is a kettle! It heats up the water to a temperature chosen appropriately to what you want to drink. Handy feature of keep warm, for when you have company and they want more than one cup of anything. You have to refill it, that can be heavy, but it is water weight, haha!

Loving this jug so nice and quiet compared to my old one and it's handy having the different settings with the keep warm function. We did have to replace the first one we got as it didn't work but the girls at Te Rapa Harvey Norman were absolutely fabulous went above and beyond even let me check the new jug before we left as we live an hour away from there.

Pretty and practical

Great when it works
It’s great when it works. Often I’ll press the desired temp, walk away and come back to nothing. Sometimes when you press the button it just turns itself off. I’ve made sure there is no water on the conection ect but happens every few days. I’ve had the kettle cut 18 mths and it’s been doing it since 6. I’m just riding it out until it dies completely

Love the matte black. It looks stylish and suits my other appliances.
I think the keep warm button is very cool. Keeps the water warm for about 2 hours. It turns on and off to keep it at temperature.
I personally feel like having 5 buttons to choose water temperature while handy but is also slightly unnecessary.
In terms of functionality of a kettle- it does exactly what it’s supposed to.
I filled the kettle to the Max level (1.7l) and I think it boils pretty quickly.
It beeps as it has reached temperature.
It doesn’t leak when you pour the water out so that is a huge plus for me.
In terms of size and weight.
It’s a great sized kettle.
The weight of it is great too- especially when it’s filled with water it’s not too heavy.
I love the button to pop the lid up to fill the water in. It’s located in a great spot and isn’t awkward.

Best kettle ever

One Major Fault
I love the design and the look of this kettle but it has one major fault. The labeling for the water tempture settings are wiped off within a few months of use. Which then becomes a guessing game as to what to push when your making hot water for a certain type of tea. The kettle then becomes useless. Which is a shame, as I loved using it.

Having doubts about this purchase. I only just bought this kettle yesterday, despite following the booklet instructions I can smell & taste plastic. You can smell plastic just by standing close enough to it without having to open the lid after each boil:(

Last month I brought it from Harvey Norman Wellington shop and after a month of use, there is a dark spot (like rust) now. It is stainless steel so, I'm working what really it is?
