[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The reminder sound is super handy as sometimes I get sidetracked once I’ve put food in, but this does not let me do that! Also the turn over food melody is great when you’re defrosting food. Sometimes it takes longer to cook foods that have been cooked before at a different time in it (such as a pie taking 4 mins one time and then 6-8mins another time even if it’s same brand and weight) I’d also like it more if the timer went up in 5 sec increments instead of just 10 and 30 - that’s really the only negatives I’ve found.

Control Panel is hard to read
I brought this Microwave oven a week ago. It coos well but the display is very hard to see and read. I have had to shine a torch on the display to see what I am programming. Back lights would of been an easy fix. Unfortunately it will be going back

Have had it about 4 months now and it heats things through really well.
The defrost function is the best microwave defrost I’ve used, it actually thaws things out instead of just cooking them.
The jingle was cheerful at first, but grew rather annoying but a quick google search showed how to turn this off.
I actually love that it’s silent now, much better for when the rest of the family are sleeping.
Great size and price, couldn’t ask for more.

Good basic microwave, but I hope it lasts.
A good basic microwave. I like the simplicity of the controls on the panel when door is closed. More complex control buttons are accessed when the door is open. I also like the pull handle for the door instead of the more usual push-button.
I wish the interior was a lighter colour, for easier viewing of food being cooked.
I've had this less than one month. I purchased this to replace an earlier LG microwave of a similar size. I hope this one lasts better than that one that lasted under 6 years, and stopped working when it produced a strong burning electrical smell.

Gets wet, rusts if you don't clean after every use
This is my fourth or maybe even fifth replacement we are on with this microwave. Every year it looses power and we've had to replace it under warranty
Unfortunately when I brought it, it was 250 so to replace the size we've had no choice but to keep getting this same one. This one we got a year ago it gets so wet after each use it puddles with water from condensation. We have to mop up the water with a towel after ever use. I've got so tired of doing that, and now it's badly rusted right around the turn table. I only use to reheat occasionally and popcorn, cooking potatoes mostly. I'm getting rid of it now I would never buy this brand again it has been a nightmare. I've never had problems like this before. When I replaced it last time I told the salesman really we can't get another brand? Oh well see you in a years time

Great Microwave - When it does not break
i bought this roughly a year ago before the diode in the Microwave melted and this caused the microwave to spark dangerously.
Although LG Warranty does cover it for 2 years, when i took it to my local service center. There were 4-5 of this exact model in the Service Center already. The local tech stated he gets 3-4 a week of the same microwave. For numerous issues.
This defiantly does not deserve 1 star but gets a 2.5 when it is working without faults. Defiantly something wrong with the parts, it has if it is constantly breaking.
I would not recommend this.

Had to replace twice!
We've now been through two of these microwaves, in less than a year both had smoke coming out of it and the metal plate inside was black. We've never put metal in there and never had another microwave do this.
It also doesn't heat evenly, I use it to warm milk for my daughter and sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it's still cold.

If your house can fit it, get the 42L!
Love this microwave! I actually bought a 25L version of this first and was so happy with how usable and effective it was that I bought one for my in-laws and a friend’s housewarming too. The space in my in-laws’ place didn’t fit the larger size, so we swapped it with our 25L version…and I’m loving having the bigger one! Both do the same job, but it is oddly nicer seeing that nice wide plate to heat things up on. The reheat function, defrost function, soften and meting functions…all of them are fab. And my bags of microwave pop corn have never been fuller!

Microwave Touchscreen fails and f3 error
We have had this microwave for just over 3 years. The outside touchscreen started to fail just after 2 years (which I know is just out of warranty). The buttons work on the inside but when you close the cover you cannot press the touchscreen to start it. Also regularly displays F3 error. Keep it shut down for 2 weeks and it works for 2 days and then goes back to same issues. I would have expected a LG product (advertised as the best in its category and award winning) to last more than 2-3 years. Really disappointed as it worked well for the first 2 years.

Ok, but wouldn’t buy again if I had the choice.
We’ve had this about 3 months now and we bought it when our old Samsung microwave died after reading the rating here. Overall I’d say it was a step backwards. The menu system is archaic - if you want to cook rice for example, you have to open the door and then lookup the sensor setting and then press ‘sensor’ 7 times. Even then we have given up on sensor cooking as the rice comes out as a solid block. Simple things that used to take 45 seconds in our old microwave - like heating a bowl of milk - take twice as long in this one despite it having more power and the touch sensor buttons are quite slow and finicky.
Overall there were a number of cheaper microwaves with similar functions and size when we bought this one, and if I had my time again I would now have bought one of them.
Although not likely to annoy most people, you have to unplug the microwave from the wall to reset the clock at daylight savings (pain for us as this means we have to drag out the fridge to get to the power point)

Annoying reminder
I came here after a year of owning this microwave because I finally had enough...it works perfectly fine but in a busy home with kids running around its just another thing you have worry about annoying you. Once your food is done heating it just carried on and on and on beeping...who on this planet heats up food and then goes oops I forgot to eat it, thank God my microwave reminded me over and over again otherwise I would of died of starvation. You have drop what you doing or ask the nearest person just to shut the microwave up and open the door...

Good quality Microwave
Had it for a month, and seems to be going well.
Cooks really fast. Doesn't cook as evenly as a flatbed however our last flatbed died in 1 year.
Only downside is the front door can be a little difficult to press your selection. Purely because it's touch screen and very sensitive. It's fine, but takes a bit of getting used to.
For the price, it was great value and a decent alternative to a Panasonic flatbed.

Hi there. The height of the microwave is 310mm. The manufacturer recommends a 150mm clearance on top of microwave for ventilation. The recommended space would then need to be 460mm. Your space would be too small for this microwave. We trust this helps with your query

How do I cook Popcorn as there is no Popcorn button, how long do I need to cook it for?
Thanks for your question Livi. You can use the Manual Cooking function which allows you to cook food for a desired time. There are 10 power levels available. If you do not select the power level, the oven will operate at the maximum level. Further information can be found in the user manual included with the unit.

Hi, does this model have a trim kit, should you decide to put it into an open space in cabinetry. Or is it only for counter top.
Hi Anita, thanks for your question. This does not include a Trim Kit. For installation it will depend on the cabinet space available. For adequate ventilation please allow 15 cm of space on the top and 10 cm at the left & right and 5 cm at the rear. The front of the oven should be at least 8 cm from the edge of the surface to prevent tipping. Hope this helps.
