Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Ideal Toaster I first saw this toaster at a hotel in Sydney and after using for my stay there I was impressed. The unit has lasted me 6 years and the left side element has burnt out, which is a little short of normal toaster life, however... I love the "Look" feature that allows you to peek and see the progress of the toasting without interrupting the cooking process. If it needs a little more then the "A Bit More" feature with give you about 30 seconds of extra toasting without burning. I will say it is not for everyone and for those who are impatient this toaster will frustrate them as the motor lift takes its time. As soon as I can get my hands on one again I will be getting one again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Toaster Toaster hums when power is running through it. Trips the power and bread gets stuck. It also makes a grating sound similar to what a door in a haunted house makes when it is lifting the bread up. All these started happening (except for the humming sound which was from the beginning) 6 months in and it is just a hassle to report and have it replaced to a new one that will probably do the same thing. The four slice Breville toaster we had before, an Ikon, lasted 10 years and only replaced it because the blue indicator light died and it was difficult to figure out the setting. Seems like Breville is creating less reliable products. Having issues with their newer models of food processor and kettle as well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shorting my house I purchased this toaster 9 months ago and in that time it shorted out my house on 3 occassions and i had to pay for an electrician. Nothing wrong with the electrics in my home, this issue it appears is with the 'just a bit more' button. Returned and replaced with the same toaster on monday 8/11/21, used it wednesday 10/11, and when i used the 'just a bit more' function it cut the power again. Seems to me this is a significant fault with the product. i now have the inconvience AGAIN of having to travel back to the store to return the product. Now what? i cannot believe this has happened to the most expensive toaster in the range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy I won this toaster in a competition! Loved to look of it and matches my other breville products. I like the length as it allows you to cook long slices of bread or up to 4 regular slices at a time. I use the frozen feature all the time. I love the ‘little bit more’ feature and the fact that you can check the toast while it’s cooking without interrupting the timer. Our first one stopped working within a year. thankfully it was in warranty and breville replaced it with no fuss. Think we’ve had the replacement for 4-5 years at least. Touch wood, still going strong. Cooks all types of bread evenly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this toaster - you won't regret it This toaster is GREAT. It actually cooks toast evenly and at the level of darkness you set on the controls! This IS just doing what you want a toaster to do, but it's the first toaster I've used which actually DOES it. The "crumpet" setting also makes cooking crumpets perfectly a no-brainer. You don't have to think, just press the button and it works. This is great design and great manufacture making life a little easier and a little simpler. Definitely a first world problem - but it's a problem that is solved. Buy this toaster - you won't regret it

Purchased Nov 2018, replaced by supplier with a new unit in May 2019.This morning this unit also failed. No toasting on one side of the unit. Now going through the return process again.......I should say expensive but great when it worked

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Rate I absolutely love this 4 Slice Breville Smart Toaster. With one press of the button the bread is automatically lowered. My toast is done to perfection every time with the easy browning control giving you the option of how light or dark you want it. I love how the slots are wide and long enough for crumpets, bagels and even croissants. It also easily fits 4 pieces of bread. This is the best toaster I have bought and would thoroughly recommend it - you won't be disappointed! Well worth the money!
