Rated 5 out of 5 by megirl from Stop using my hot water bottle I have used this Sunbeam HPM5100 a couple of times now and found it heats up fast and also hot enough to replace my hot water bottle. I get cold feet at times hence unable to sleep, and this pad is obviously lighter on the feet than a hot water bottle and stay hot as long as you have it turned on. I wrap my feet with the pad to enclose them.

The pad heats up very quickly and is most effective in providing effective and gentle heat therapy. Just the right size. The auto off function ensures it doesn't stay on longer than required. It’s a bit nuts but it really is perfect for injuries (I have a bad back and unfortunately it runs in the family). It gets nice and hot and stays hot, but switches off after three hours so you don’t need to worry about falling asleep. I’ve also replaced my grandparents’ hot water bottles with one of these each after they sustained some burns. It keeps them toasty warm!

It eases my back and neck pain, heats up very quickly, is comfortable to lie on and it turns of after 3 hours.I LOVE it! If I had to evacuate my house that’s one of the first things I would grab. I bought my son one for his slipped disc pain recommended it to several others.I would recommend it to anybody with pain. It is not expensive either.

If you can use it in bed, is it ok to fall asleep with while using.

Great question! While it can be used in bed, it shouldn't be used while you're asleep as if it get's creased or folded, the wires can break, and can become a fire risk. An electric blanket may be a better option as they are designed to stay flat on the mattress, reducing the risk of damage. Hope this helps! ^MF
