Difficult to set up with old Sonos 5
Had to phone tech help (who were very patient). After 1 hour eventually resolved. Problem caused by old Sonos 5 not supported by S2 controller, so had to alter Port settings to be able to use Sonos 5 and 1s together.

Sonos Port
I bought the Sonos Port so that I could stream music from my new turntable to my Sonos sound system, which consists of a Sonos Arc soundbar and two Sonos One speakers. It works like a charm.

Its been about a week since I've installed the Sonos app
I have the turntable, tv and audio equipment inside (using older existing speakers inside still); and outside is another tv with a sonos sound bar and 4 outdoor sonos speaker's on the patio wall. The sonos app lists the outside sound bar and patio speakers. But not the TT. Would make it easier for me if ut WAS listed (like it lists Pandora, Sonos Radio and TV). Also, the TT only works well (with ni sound glitches) when in the room with my router (which in NOT where the rest of my audio equipment is).

In with the new, but keep your old
Crazy how with this device I can now hear my music & not worry about interruptions like phone notifications to include an incoming call. Music continues to play. I love it! Keep your old equipment (in my case Yamaha receiver) & simply hook up your sonos into it under an auxiliary input or any other available channel. Change your output to that channel & poof...You're good to go!

Expensive, but simply works. It simply works!
Works fantastic. So, I had already gotten into the Sonos ecosystem buying (2) Fives and (4) Ones to coordinate whole-home music for a party. I had been using an older Apple TV (purchased circa 2016) for streaming iTunes to an older receiver (purchased circa 2004) whose only modernized connectivity is optical or coax digital but otherwise still runs perfectly. This worked for a few years, but something happened circa 2019 or so and it became very hit-or-miss. I attempted to use a new Apple TV via HDMI adapter, and it did actually synchronize with the Sonos system, but like the previous Apple TV it had issues randomly dropping the stream. So, I bit and got the Port. Very expensive, but you know what? No buyer's remorse. It just works and works well. It doesn't do more than CD quality, but I kind of doubt I can hear more than that. Now, for editing, yes, you want extra bit depth to mix down. Not necessary for listening (at least for me). Plus, the 2.4 GHz band in my area is congested by about 20 wifi networks, so slower data is better in that respect. Had this for about 6 months and not one hiccup. Love it.

Compared to Connect - better
Easy to setup similar to the Connect it replaced. The DAC seems better from my perspective. Awaiting the update in June to explore the music capabilities.

Some surmountable glitches but great music spread throughout
I have a Port for the 35-year old turntable (through a Sonos Amp) streaming to two Sonos Moves and a Sonos Play:5, and wanted this Port to do the same for a 15-year old CD/VDV player (with Smart TV added). Apart from the technical glitches of interference (which I hope to tidy up today) it's all worked brilliantly, and was very easy to set up through the Sonos App.

Excellent - 2nd Time Around !
I have a hard wired multi room system (ceiling speakers), amp located in dining room. 8 year old Sonos Connect became faulty, bought a Port. It didn't work (no sound output), returned after a marathon telephone session with Sonos expert. New one works perfectly. Excellent quality. 4 star review because of the initial faulty unit.

Oh dear!
The product arrived very quickly very well packaged. Very easy to set up and connect to my existing system, and connected to my Turntable with the supplied leads. All looks smart but the sound keeps dropping whilst listening to records, I visited the forum and changed from Turntable to Apple play it's better but not great.

Lots of potential, but app needs work...
I was so excited for my 4 Sonos ports. Install and setup wasn't very difficult. I was thrilled to see how many of my fav apps are compatible with the Sonos app. However, I was then very let down when I started connecting my fav apps (Google Music, Audible, Pandora, Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, etc...) and found that many functions (like searching for a song name) don't seem to be available with these apps through the Sonos app. Crossing my fingers the developers double-check these and add more functionality or if things like searching for a song by name are already there, that they make them less hidden/more user-friendly.... I was also so excited to be able to listen to something in one room and tell the app to make the audio book or music follow me to the next room. This sort of works sometimes, but seems very glitchy and at times I found myself upstairs in the kitchen listening and then at random my downstaris gym would start playing on its own... (no one else home, but me). Seems like the Sonos app still has a ways to come as far as how userfriendly it is and how glitchy it is. My final thoughts are that I've heard that Sonos Ports bottle-neck my Hi-Fi music service, Tidal, from being able to play at maximum quality on my mega pricey speakers. Had I realized this before my Sonos purchase, I probably would have looked into another solution. Maybe Sonos will release a Hi-Fi version of the port later on... All-in-all the ports are a fantastic concept and I look forward to when their app software catches up to their physical hardware and also to when their physical hardware gets a bitrate upgrade to that will keep the Sonos ports relevant. For the cost and considering how long the ports and app have been released, I had very high expectations and although I still think these are pretty cool, I am honestly very let down that the actual operation still needs significant polishing. We were considering expanding our home audio with additional ports, but until the app gets better, we'll be holding off and/or looking into alternate solutions.

Would not have bought this product had my Connect been upgradable. The new Port did not even have a Digital Optical plug in like the old Connect. I thought the digital optical plug would have bee much better than RCA????

No balanced outputs
I used 28 of these in a commercial application, high powered in some areas. The literature recommends using commercial equipment. The port does not support balanced output which is industry standard. Also, I used third party rca/phono plugs of a high quality that shorted out when used.

Get some help
Took the Geek Squad almost 6 hours over 2 days to get the port to play Sirius and Apple Music over my whole house system. Calls - deep dives to Sonos Customer Support. I never would have had the patience to attempt the installation. Now that it is working properly, I love the unit.

Works well now it's set it up
I am using exclusively to stream my turntable to my Sonos lounge system... There were lots of teething problems and I spent the best part of six hours after it dropped off the system trying to get it to get back on the system but now it's on there it seems to be working well

I wish it worked with my setup
I tried to pair with a Yamaha TSR 5780 and I was unable to get any sound. I called support and they couldn't help me. I was able to find a "fix" in a forum, but the on/off and volume controls did not function. Too expensive to not have complete functionality.

Disappointed with the Sonos port
The desired use was to eliminate the computer to receiver to house power amplifier (house is wired for sound from the pre-WiFi days). With the port connected directly to the power amp, and also to a WiFi router, is works great. We use our existing system to stream radio stations, with no problems, but thought this would be a good upgrade. The problem is that when stations are added to Sonos Radio, Sonos appears to use a service such as TuneIn, and this has ads. At the beginning, just a few when you click on the icon, but over a couple of weeks, the ads are not only frequent, but often get into a spiral, where the Sonos Radio restarts again and again. It appears that the only way to avoid this is to purchase a streaming service. This was not made clear when the unit was purchased. And it is not clear that if TuneIn was purchased as a third-party service, that this would have any effect on the Sonos Radio app. And NONE of this was even mentioned in the literature that came with the port, and even the dealer wasn't aware of this.

Good product
Purchased two Ports to replace Connects. Used the trade in reduction provided by Sonos. They were easy to set up and the sound quality equals the Connects when using the digital output to an external DAC. I have not listened to the analog output of the Port.

Great source component
Connect replacement. I upgraded the power supply and feed it through a DAC. I also have it Ethernet wired to my router. That combination and its an amazing source component in my Hifi system. Detailed and great quality network streamer sound.

Probably
It's good but over-priced in comparison to Sonos speakers. If it had more inputs it would be better value, so it could, for example handle both a CD and Turntable. If it was half the price, I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Fantastic...once you can connect it!
It was EXTREMELY painful to set up. It ONLY runs on the 2.4gHz band, and that's not documented. I had to disable my 5gHz channel to pair it, but I had to learn how to do that first which required calls to both the ISP and wifi mesh provider. Now that it's connected it's great, but expect some PAIN before the pleasure.
