Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Great Sound from such a small sound bar This Ray is so perfect for my 24 inch bedroom Insignia Firetv. The sound is truly incredible for such a small design. The Sonos app is super easy to navigate.My Firetv remote controls the Sonos Ray volume perfectly. The true play is a great option to dial everything in and is so simple to setup.The speech enhancement function is fantastic.Love the night mode.The only drawback but surely no biggie at all is a HDMI ARC connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound Bar for a surprisingly low price The Sonos Ray soundbar replaced a similar sized Bose, both fitted perfectly under my TV. Unfortunately the Sonos 2 is not compatible with my current Sonos 1 system, nevertheless as a stand alone it has enhanced my viewing experience. It may encourage me to update the old system but still not happy with how Sonos dumped its integration with new. The size, price and known Sonos quality were the deciding factors of the purchase.

However, we had some questions when we first hooked it up regarding the volume and sound settings, which the support person on the phone, did not seem to know the answers to. We almost returned it to the store, but as I said, we finally figured it out on our own, through trial and error. We are now very pleased with the sound.

The high and base tones are very clear. The best part is how easy it was to plug and play with my TV and use the tv remote to control the sonos speaker sound.

Televisions all sound muddy and hearing aids simply amplified the distorted sound. I bought the Ray on the promise of clarity. Thank you, for the first time vocals are crisp and clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A really great first time sound bar As ever, stylish and simple product and instructions and less large than I was expecting which made it even easier to integrate with the OLED TV. The only snag was integrating the LG magic remote but after a quick Google search, I was able to hook it all up easily. The sound is wonderful and I appreciate having it as another speaker in a main living room area to group with an existing speaker. Well done Sonos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV speaker replacement I purchased this speaker to update our TV speaker. It wasn't too difficult to set up, paired easily with the older LG TV and Nvidia remotes. The digital audio cable took a bit of adjusting to get it to kick in, but all good now. We use it in a small suite, so I didn't want anything too large. The sound is really good, but there is a lack in complete sound which will require purchasing the matching sub. I intend to do that one day soon. Until then this one has improved the sound tremendously. The only reason for 4 stars is that I hoped it would have more depth to the sound. We recently watched Top Gun Maverick and I truly missed the deep sounds of the music and jets that make the movie so magical. My fault for not watching it on a more complete audio surround sound set up! I am excited to expand this Sonos with more speakers to enrich it fully. This was my first Sonos purchase.

Adding the Ray to our existing Sonos speakers has transformed not only watching TV but has also massively enhanced the music experience in our open plan living space. I am blown away with the quality of sound ! Sonostastic! Setup via the app was incredibly easy and we were up and running in under 5 minutes with volume control sync'd with the tv remote. Thank you once again, Sonos. Another brilliant product!

Requested a time and was told it would be over a month before they could help. Returned item as they refused to help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My experience with Sonos is I would purchase it again I like the product's quality, clarity, cost, and output at home, which are equal to the movie theater in the comfort of my home. SONOS, as an addition to my home theater, is excellent for the value and the enhancement of my smart TV sound experience. Now, I enjoy the dynamics of theater presentations in my family room without leaving my home. The SONOS has been one of my best purchases for the 2024 year.

But it did not say that you can not use new remot controls. This is so stupid... I now have to use my phone to adjust the sound, meaning my kids can not use it. They do not have phones.... I would rather have bought the more expensive one, that I also have on another tv.

I wish I would have known about this unit a few years ago. Haven't really utilized the linking feature yet, but plan to buy more Sonos speakers and try it out. Only 99% because I wish I had a remote, but I'm learning to do without. Paired to LG tv and I can use that remote for volume control.

The soundbar doesn't pair with a Sony remote *unless* you turn the tv's Bluetooth off. Total deal-breaker for us and should've been more clearly stated in the product description. Not worth the hour+ on the phone with Sonos and then Sony- returned it and wouldn't recommend!

It seems like this is the best way to do it. The speaker is definitely louder and more capable than our built in Samsung TV speakers. I wish it could get a little louder, but I have faith that adding two rear One speakers and a mini sub will give us the home theater sound we want.

A good clear sound & I love that you can make the speech clearer. Definitely a happy customer. One tiny gripe. Why do I have to have two speakers the same to use as surround speakers I.e. two ones. Why can't I use a play one and a one ‍♂️. As I say it's a tiny gripe & hasn't spoilt my listening enjoyment.

The setup is extremely easy, and the sound is room filling and warm with a depth hard to find in a single component audio systems. The inconspicuous size and design tucks away nicely and provides a custom look to your entertaining area. Our Sonos collection will continue to grow due to the ease of use and sound quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not recommend this product The wifi is a huge problem. Spectrum changed my router. I have unplugged and restarted the router as instructed. It does not work. I did a factory reset on the Ray. It worked fine until I tried to use the app again and if could not connect. It wants me to turn off the router again. Do not buy this product.

Plugged this in and it has made a great difference. Took a little while to figure out how to route the TV audio through to it (Sony's fault - not Sonos) but once I had mastered that, I've been very happy with it. Also streams music in the normal way if you're so inclined.

We had this speaker connected to the TV with the optical cable, but there would be frequent sound drops or pauses in the audio - we experienced 6 or 7'if them just during one episode of friends, and countless sound drops in a movie. This is unacceptable and is MUCH worse than our TV speakers, which we now appreciate even more. We have returned this item and are now using the TV's speakers again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for a room without TV I only needed a smaller speaker to turn our dining room into a surround sound space. I have two sets of Sub Mini/Beam Gen2/Ones in the two lounge rooms. So this was just to make a TV free space sound better. Great sound system, boosted by the addition of the Sub Mini in the other rooms (can still be felt/heard). This is my first Ray and I am glad I didn't use it for TV surround, as it is not as powerful and has less connectivity than the Beam Gen2/Arc. This didn't matter, as it was only for music. Like the Beam Gen2 and Sub Mini, the new Sonos app does not allow the device to update, and keeps crashing. I needed to download the PC app to be able to update the device before use. Luckily I had a PC on the same network, otherwise I would have been in a pickle. Now that I know about the desktop app, I have more control than before. But the new app needs tweeking. But the app needs fixing ASAP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed Tried all settings to improve depth of voice such as news programs the sound is no better than the internal TV speakers. It does improve while viewing movies. The base is rather excessive if adjusted to improve voice currently set as factory default on base still very basy for films. Would like to have retained play 1s only for music and have another setting for TV surround using the play 1s.

The sound is muddy despite knocking out the bass and cranking treble in the equalizer. For the price, it is okay. Though the Ray is very easy to set up, I could never get the surround sound to work with my existing Sonos speakers, even with support help, which was disappointing, but at least I can play music on all three.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ray is good for a small room TV. Overall I'm happy with the Ray. HDMI Arc would be nice but the optical seems to work fine with my TCL TV. The sound is good and similar to a 1 SL in my opinion. A nice way to keep Sonos going in my bedroom as part of my overall home system. The size works well being suspended under a floating TV mount. Not the most impressive Sonos product but great for the $ and what it is designed to do.

How can a company make a great product, then deny us the most basic reliable form of connection. Blatantly dumb business decision in my mind. Even the older 4.2 would be better than nothing For a Soundbar thats using eArc then its not a great loss, but on these smaller more portable products, its a real failing.

Will keep with sonos for all my sound needs from now on cash allowin, don't want to go down cheap Bluetooth only options! Brother has multiple speakers around his large house, incl wireless sub woofer which creates amazing sound experience, wireless.

Sound quality is excellent, set up and Connection just as easy as before. Now I love being able to stream music easily to multiple speakers at a touch of a button from my iPhone. Hope to have a subwoofer in my near future! Are you listening Santa ?
