Buggy firmware
I'm off to a rocky start with this "smart" TV. Since setup last week, I've faced multiple occasions where the TV would immediately freeze upon powering on in the home screen and not respond to any remote control inputs. I believe this is a firmware issue as rebooting the TV seems to fix the problem, but only temporarily. Hoping for a new system update soon because it's becoming very irritating to deal with. I've owned Sony TVs before and never encountered such technical problems. Other than that, I've been fairly satisfied with the picture and sound quality (after some initial adjustments).

Bad TV Remote
Purchased to replace previous Sony TV as the TV Tuner became faulty.
The remote that came with this TV Has no numeral buttons for channel selection and does not have the ability to bookmark stations for future viewing.
The process for selecting stations is either via electronic guide, voice control or another convoluted method as detailed in the electronic guide. There are over 80 stations available in our area.
All our previous Sony TV products have proper TV remote's and all have the ability to bookmark stations for future viewing.
Although the Sony picture quality is and aways has been excellent, I for one find the absence of ease of channel selection and the ability to bookmark quite annoying.

Disappointing
I have always had Sony TVs and was so disappointed with some features - for example the guide is awful a screen of illegible grey that makes it so difficult to read. Only 6 channels can be viewed at a time compared to the 12 channels I could see with my previous Sony. I had to buy a remote as the one provided did not provide enough contrast between the buttons so I could not see or locate what I wanted. I also don’t understand why the numbers have been removed - I want to be able to press a number and get the channel I wanted rather than three other steps it now takes with the ‘new’ but not improved remote.
My experience has meant that tge next TV will probably not be a Sony unless some of the features are improved. The clarity and picture are good, I don’t notice any improvement in sound quality.

Worst EPG ever
I have four Sony TVs, of them all this is the worst for a the legibility and usability of the EPG (Electronic Program Guide). I have a OLED TV and a 32" that can access the Freeview guide if needed, this cannot.
What I'm left with is an EPG with painfully small letters and no way to increase the size. The layout darkens the display prior to the current moment in time so you have this very annoying feature where text spans both dark and light areas on the screen in a small font. Almost illegible. The 55 OLED EPG has much bigger text, coloured differentiation for movies etc, Very legible.
In all seriousness the EPG looks like it was given to primary school programming class to design. It needs to be updated.

Just the thing
Recently a four year old Sony HDTV was stolen from my wife’s mother’s house. Doing the research to find a replacement I came to this TV and it ticked nearly all the boxes. We ended up getting two of them! At home we were running a Bravia HDTV that was old enough to not have a DTV tuner. Set top tuner, dual tuner PVR, blueray DVD and FireStick on a switch to a single HDMI port. It was time for the 21st Century. 4K and Bravia link as well as all the streaming services.
Not quite perfect though. The bass sound is not quite as good as the old TV and the TV only has Toslink to get sound out. DVD has only HDMI and coaxial. Adapters however are amazingly cheap and on my old class A amp and classic speakers it is even better.

Good TV
This TV is very good and has many great functions and options.
There is one which I miss from my previous TV which does not exist in this one that is the ability to check what programmes are coming up next on a channel or a group of free to air channels like all ABC or SBS channels while still seeing the program you are watching. The only way to do this on this TV is to use the guide function which takes you away from the program you are watching. You can use info to see what's next but not more than that and you can't look at other channels on the same network.

Could do better
I like Sony products. The picture quality is good. But after about a month the screen developed a fault. The image was "flaring" and unwatchable. I had great difficulty getting hold of anyone at Sony to help me. The help line did not answer, the online chat never replied. When I finally got on to technical support I was told the model number did not exist. Once I had emailed a photo of the model ID to the engineer, he did talk me through a rectification which I could do. TV now works well. The tech support person was helpful and patient. I feel embarrassed to mention all this since I know these are first world problems. But my impression is SONY has paid little or no attention to its phone hotline, to it online chat and technical support and in general it's after sales service. These things have to be very good, otherwise customers such as myself go elsewhere for the next purchase.

Vivid colours
I bought this to replace a hisense tv and immediately noticed the strong clear colours and images produced on this screen. Very nice!
Sound is good without a soundbar.
i use it as my pc screen and tv which easily achieved by selecting input ports.
The remote is easy to operate and learn the best sequences to navigate, but it does not have any numbers to quickly select a tv channel (by pressing a number). You have to scroll through all channels, this is a negative but not essential for my happiness
i am not a fan of all the smart features.
