A great TV!!
We've had our new Sony Bravia 8 TV for a few weeks now, having purchased it during the year end sales, and we're very pleased with it - picture quality is really good once you change the settings to your liking and it's more than bright enough for our needs. The sound without a sound bar is pretty good and adequate if you don't require a full surround sound experience. The operating system is very intuitive and easy to navigate with the remote.
We did our research before buying and the overall Sony Bravia experience is what won us over compared to other brands - at the sale price it was a no brainer compared to the newer models.

Replacement TV
Bought 2 weeks ago to replace a barely 6y/o Samsung, this took a couple of days to get settings right (with help from YouTube) and very pleased with picture including side-on viewing. Linking to 6y/o soundbar and subwoofer took another half a day and still need old volume remote. So far cannot load local TV stations and struggle to find SBS live so don't know how this would be easy for anyone who'll ever look after my house while I'm away. A call to test the help desk's customer service is next. An improvement on the old set as expected with the new technology. Definitely worth learning the settings to avoid pre-loaded ads and to bump brightness by turning off eco mode.

Not bad, but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 4ish months in and as far as the TV's functionaliy, features and screen goes it really is a great unit; but...
Before the latest update, every couple of weeks the screen starts acting out and displaying these very apparent lines that make whatever you're watching contort into an unwatchable maelstrom of awfulness that couldnt be fixed unless you unplugged the tv from the wall and wait 5 minutes for it to reboot to then work properly again; seemed to be a software issue that they have so far seemed to have solved. Ever since that patch the tv has worked exceptionally well thankfully 🙂
Would recommend a new Bravia to anyone willing to upgrade!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tv in December and what can I say!! It’s the best tv I have ever owned. The picture quality is next level and the picture quality settings are so easy to navigate and get the screen just how you want it.
The built in speakers on the tv really make the viewing experience that even sweeter there is no need for a sound bar or a surround sound system with the tv as it sounds great as is. With great bass sound and the option to increase dialog sound makes it great to set up as your own.
Would 100% recommend the Sony Bravia OLED to anyone!!

Purchased what we thought was a premium product and has performed ok but SBS and its apps don’t work properly and ch10and10 play the same. We purchased a LG Tv with Similar specs which is better. I have been told this is not uncommon with Sony Bravia. Working with Sony to fix this. I suspect it is a software problem.Unit about 18 months old and been unable to use those apps for 6 months Spoke to the retailer who said problems was between us and sony

I’ve been using the 65" BRAVIA 8 OLED for a few months now, and the picture quality is simply outstanding. The OLED display delivers deep blacks and vibrant colours, making everything from movies to sports look incredible. The XR Processor handles motion really smoothly, and the 4K upscaling works surprisingly well — even older content looks sharp. Sound quality is solid, too, and the Google TV interface is responsive and easy to use. The setup was simple, and the design is sleek and modern. This TV has definitely elevated my home viewing experience.
