Great washing machineI bought the Fisher & Paykel 11kg front loader four months ago and have been very impressed with it. We are a family of five and it handles large loads with ease. I had initially been concerned about the large size but it handles small loads very well without over sudsing (using a low sudsing washing powder). My previous font loader would overflow water when over sudsing occurred but this machine has a great feature that sounds an alarm (beep tone) and pauses the washing until the suds settle (which usually isn't very long, and is certainly quicker than me having to mop up a sudsy overflow like I had to with my other machine). For most cycles I used the manual dosing with washing powder (best for the soft tank water we use) but I find the automatic liquid dispenser handy for the quick 15 and 30 cycles.
The cycle options are great and are an appropriate/expected length for a front loader. I generally use the cottons cycle, sheets and allergy for linen, towels, heavy and the quick 30 for pre-washing extra dirty work clothes or kids clothes. The one draw back of a front loader for towels is that even using the towel cycle I find I need to dry them in the dryer for them to be soft and fluffy. If line dried they tend to be hard and scratchy.
Our laundry is close to our living area but the general operating noise of the machine is not noticeable. It is loud during the spin cycle but on a wooden floor I don't think many machines would be quiet.
Another great feature of the machine is the reminder to clean the drum and filter after 100 washes. The drum clean cycle makes cleaning the machine very easy.
Overall I would highly recommend this machine. It has quite a few features that you would find on machines in the higher price bracket, is reliable and washes clothes well.

Excellent machine. So quiet.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased the WH1160P3 11kg with steam care front load washing machine and couldn't be happier. It's sooooo quiet and have the choice of a short cycles (15min & 30min) as well as a multitude of other selections. We use the everyday (58min) for just about every wash and it cleans exceptionally well. Can even add to the wash as the water is pumping in to the drum if needed. Also uses less water than our previous 10kg top load machine, and a key lock so kids can't mess with it. Can't fault it and would recommend.

Love this machine!Easy to use, works well. A variety of choices for wash. Good large drum allowing big wash load. Very happy with it.
