Description

Whether you’re hiking, biking, or simply travelling, the Peak Design Capture V3 Clip lets you conveniently carry your camera anywhere you go. This clip is built with anodized finish, embedded grip, and security lock that is suitable for everyday carry. It also comes with two sets of bolts that allow you to easily attach the clip onto bag straps.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pretty good gadget, but could be better... I've been using the Capture clip to carry my large/heavy (Nikon D3S) DSLR camera on my backpacks while hiking. It works as advertised. That being said, even the long screws are just (barely) long enough to secure the the clip to the shoulder strap on my large (85L) pack. It would be nice if there was a version of the Capture built specifically for use with thick straps/large packs. Also, I think the Capture would be more comfortable if the back plate was curved/contoured, rather than being flat. On long/multi-day hikes I end up with sore spots where the corners of the back plate dig into my chest/shoulder (i do have a large/heavy camera .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth It! SUCH good quality, as always. I am a maternity and family portrait photographer - and I'm a woman! I was hesitant to purchase this piece because I don't often wear a belt to sessions where I'm chasing little kids around, but it has truly proven to be a great piece! I attach it to my grip-side strap of my PD - v1 everyday backpack. I was worried about the uh..chest area being a problem, but it works well for me! Typically I use capture to hang my camera against my person without it flailing around, while I walk clients into the middle of the desert. Hands free which is great to keep kiddos from touching my lenses and pressing buttons!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerfully Small! Basically since i bought it I am actually working out what belts i can use it on so it holds the camera on! Tried the backpack and on the hip. But the hip, need to find a proper belt system to hold the weight. BEcause i fully trusting on it robustness to hold the camera. It is so powerfully small, tiny but it feels sturdy enough! I have a full frame dslr and my worry is now on the belt and hip and camera attached, rather than on the clip itself. Been wanting to buy the older version but since this new model, looks more discreet and neat. definitely recommending it. Considering buy a second one if i have double camera shoots

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn’t fit any other backpack To start, I love almost all of peak designs products. I own lots of their gear and have no issues. This product on the other hand is very frustrating. I have a surplus of backpacks, from backpacking to everyday / school. This clip doesn’t fit on a single one of them! (It’s way too narrow and slim.) The only backpack it fits on is of course the peak design one. (Which is great but not ideal for high mileage days, skiing, backpacking or climbing…) I’d really love to see a more versatile camera clip. The idea is amazing, just executed poorly for the majority of packs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Useful EVER! This is a must-have if you are a photographer on the go. Even excellent with larger bodies like a Canon 5D IV and a 24-70 f/2.8 (no grip). I’ve even used it with my 70-200 f/2.8 and loved the results. Makes taking my camera all kinds of places really simple and convenient. Both hands are available for trekking poles, climbing, etc, while the camera is secured stably and high enough on your body that it’s not running into anything or in any kind of danger. Seriously a genius product if you have either wished you had your camera on your adventure or if you have and have felt like there was no convenient or comfortable way to carry it. Capture is the best!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great concept. Needs a slight improvement I bought this along side of a 20L backpack for an upcoming trip. I love the idea of having my DSLR instead of my iPhone at the ready for a photo. I attached it to my strap as specified and started using the backpack to break it in and get to know it. With in a week one of the thumb tighten bolts had unthreaded and fallen off and subsequently lost. Luckily (and thankfully to peak design) I was able to use one of the included “low profile” bolts as a replacement….. but now I’m paranoid it going to happen again. I’m wondering if there shouldn’t be some sort of safety added so if it does come undone the whole thing doesn’t end up falling off…?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Don't Backpack Without It This is an essential piece of my backpacking/hiking kit. I have one on my 65L pack and one on my 36L pack. In both cases, it keeps my DSLR readily available for shots along the trail. Interestingly enough, after my first trip using the clip, upon returning, I noticed a significant increase in the number and variety of pictures I take. This has been the case ever since I began using the clip, which was why I purchased a second one for my smaller pack that I use on day hikes and shorter overnight trips. Not having to fish my camera out of a bag, have it hanging around my neck or carrying it as a hike has been a real boon to my on-trail photography.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs Perfecting for Women I really like the idea of this clip, and the clipping mechanism itself is smooth and secure. However, the clip itself is not big enough to fit on a lot of backpacks. In fact, out of 4 backpacks I use, this only fits on 2, and it's very tight and difficult to get on. It does not fit over thicker strapped packs at all. I'd also flag that this probably works better for taller men then women. A shorter torso plus having breasts makes the front strap placement far less comfortable or even workable for any camera with much of a lens. And while I'd love to carry it at my waist, most women don't wear belts (or even have belt loops on hiking pants/leggings), and the clip does not work with existing backpack waist straps. Unfortunately, I don't think I can get much use of out of this, but I'd love to see an updated design better suited for women in the future.
