Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great qquality printing... on plain paper Replaced my old MFC printer because it was munching up my printing... only to find that this printer does just the same with inkjet printable vinyl sticker paper which is what I need a printer for 90% of the time. MP tray... I think MP stands for 'Macerator Port'- it has chewed up so much expensive printable sticker paper. The normal feed tray jams up with this paper most of the time- often the back of the machine comes crashing open. This happens with differing brands of inkjet printable paper. No more Brother MFC for me when I can afford another brand. If all you want this for is printing on plain paper it does a great job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Cannot Go Wrong with This Printer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This printer arrived promptly, well packaged and easy to assemble with great instructions. It was extremely easy to setup, including connecting to the wifi. The software download was efficient and allowed instant connectivity of al devices required. It is a perfect home office multifunction printer that not only is fast but is efficient too in its resources. Having 2 paper trays is a huge plus. As a lot of printers are now moving to 1 tray or just a tray feed slot. The scanner is great and fast, no waiting for it to slowly move across the glass anymore. Cannot highly recommend this enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great MFC but software is a let down The printer scans a prints much better than my previous MFC from another vendor but the Brother iPrint&Scan software that comes with it is not great. It is clunky and dated and the scanning management aspect is a disappointment. The smart app with my previous MFC was much better as you could preview the scan and edit the scan area to make sure you are scanning the area you want. With the other vendors app you could also crop and/or rotate a scanned image in the app prior to saving it. If I could combine the Brother MFC with the other vendors smart app it would be perfect. The guys at Brother should take a look at their competitors smart app and create something similar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed with MFC-J6940DW This our 4th Brother printer and this model is not of the same quality or robustness. The things which have changed are: 1. Sensitive to head clogging we need to clean heads on a regular basis particularly after colour prints; 2. When inks are low the printer just stops printing without telling us and we need to check to work out that it is because one of the inks is low; 3. Low ink stops printing even though the print measure is telling us we have enough to do more prints so we are changing the ink cartridges more often and going through lots more ink; 3. the printer is asking for more updates than any of our previous Brother printers which have all been MFC-JXXX DW printers. We have had such great Brother printers which have always been reliable and supported us well in our small but busy office. We expected to have the same quality of machine this time but it is not living up to the previous models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart printer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This printer meets my expectations and doesn’t disappoint like most brother printers. Light weight, easy to set up and does the job pretty efficiently. Set up took less than 15 minutes and with the brother app it worked quickly. Quality seems to match what brother is good at so not disappointed on that aspect either. Speed of printing is good so far and works efficiently on most wireless networks. Design is modern & blends well in an office setting. I’m not sure if it can print double sided other than that everything seems to be fine. I would totally recommend for office use since it manages so many functions & is truly an all-in-one printer

I've had several printers this the 3rd Brother machine, No there not indestructible but are reliable and easy to learn. Used for business Best of the A3 capable machines

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brother can do better Purchased the MFC-J6940DW to replace my previous MFC-J6920DW only because not drivers for Mac OS 14. MFC-J6920DW far superior machine, better quality screen, more compact and fast response to wake up. It is irresponsible & NOT green for Brother not to provide software updates to latest OS upgrades. The was nothing wrong with the MFC-J6920DW.
