Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old Essential Energy cream I never write these reviews. I find Shiseido lotion to be the only product that works to hydrate my dry skin and not break me out. This new formula is not the answer, it's too greasy and slides around on your face. The old white bottle Essential Energy cream felt rich and did it's job moisturizing at night or under makeup. This is the 2nd time one of my Shiseido moisturizers has been discontinued in a years time. How do you expect to maintain customer loyalty. I started trying different brands of lotions, because I'm frustrated at how Shiseido does not keep staple products that work and replace them with lackluster "trendy" product. Very disappointed.

I like to buy skincare that is manufactured in the countries that I visit, but I've noticed that the condition of my skin has degraded dramatically over the past year. I came back to Shiseido products, and with the combination of the Treatment Softener, Ultimune Power Infusing Serum, and Essential Energy Hydrating Cream my skin has regained a smooth texture and youthful glow. Thank you, Shiseido!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight I tried a lot of creams, and a big issue for me is to find a good cream which will lay perfectly without feeling heavy under my make up. I was shocked how fast it absorbed, it feels so lightweight, though my skin is plump and moisturized. I can definitely see the hyaluronic acid work here. It has a light fragrance, but it's not irritating in any way. It doesn't feel sticky or heavy. The skin gets a nice natural dew. Another great perk is that the package is not only luxurious, but also environmentally friendly as the cream is refillable. It comes with a small spatula to help to prevent the contamination. I definitely recommend this cream.

Your discontinued energy gel emulsion was the light of my life...each night before bed. But this is a cream, thick and completely unlike the gel it was supposed to replace. No comparison. Previously you substituted products with improved versions. These are not even in the same genre. Now that both my favorites are gone, I think you may be losing a loyal and heartbroken customer. Why are you doing this?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hydrating Received this in exchange for an honest review. Compared to the version of this with SPF, the scent is much milder and the consistency a tad bit more gel like. I really liked this for those reasons, especially since the spf the other version came with wasn't very high anyway, so I'd use a separate spf. It's very hydrating and leaves me skin feeling hydrated and protected. My skin doesn't feel dry during the day, which it can with some moisturizers in the desert and after wearing a mask all day. I don't know if I'd repurchase, purely because I have other moisturizers that I like more, but the product itself is definitely one that works well for me!

I've been using the old essential energy moisturizer for years and it was absolutely tried and true. This new version is horrible. I continued using it because I thought it might grow on me, but it continues to disappoint me. I apply it immediately after cleansing and toning and no matter the amount that I use, it feels heavy and slimy. It actually makes the pores in my t-zone weep and the fragrance is far too strong. I am so upset that they discontinued the old version for this new formula.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS CREAM This is the BEST face cream. It's super rich and creamy. Makes my face feel all dewy. Be sure you buy the right stuff! The cream that looks like the same container, but has SPF sunscreen in it is NOT the same creamy stuff. It's weird and slick on your face. The jars look almost identical, and I bought the wrong one on accident. I won't make that mistake again.
