Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a lip balm I love Benefit, so I was super excited that they came out with a lip balm. I exclusively wear lip balms- in fact it seems like I've tried every product on the market, from $50 to ones you can buy in the drugstore. This is not a lip balm. Lip balms are usually sheer, silky/buttery, and hydrating. This product is intense/bright, thick, and dry. The good news, is that if you're looking for a matte lipstick, look no further- this is your product! Maybe Benefit could change the name of the product to 'lipstick' instead of 'lip balm'? Or change the description? That would help customers make a more informed decision. Many thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pink Quartz I LOVE this lip balm in Pink Quartz. It is a very natural, sheer pink (not heavily pigmented like the other shades). I bought this to replace my Dior Lip Glow in the shade Raspberry. I needed a subtle pink for my neutral toned lips and I found their shade to be a bit neon for my golden skin tone, and not moisturizing enough. This Pink Quartz does all of that for me and I am pleasantly surprised how soft and subtly pink my lips are even after it has rubbed off. Please DO NOT change the formula of this shade, I will continue to buy. And if you make more shades that are sheer as this one, I will buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I loved loved the original Benefit lip balms...like another reviewer I'm partial to balms - and have tried many. Benefit's were the best. The originals were super silky with great slip, more sheer yet still great pigment that didn't creep into the lines on the outer part of the mouth. Very hard to find. So when they were discontinued I was so bummed. With this new one I was excited to try...however like other mentioned it feels incredibly dry, very little slip. I don't mind the deeper pigment but if you could dab it a bit to mellow it out...however because it's so dry it's not easy to do. Going to return the one purchased... it gets 3 stars because the color choices are great and the pigment is doable if it has more slip to work with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pomegranate California Kissin' ColorBalm I was searching for a moisturizing lip balm that would also have a tint of color. The packaging presentation is also super cute, it's not a boring looking tube, it was very unique. I was searching for a darker color, preferably a red or a nice purple tone. Based on the packaging the pomegranate was one of their darker colored tones but after one coat of application it looked like a pink, pretty but a tad too bright for my personal preference. I started warming up to the color though, but what I didn't quite get used to was how sticky it felt. Again this is a personal preference. As far as moisturizing, it didn't really feel moisturized, which was weird because it did feel sticky but somehow not moist, this is the one characteristic i'm using to rate it, for it's purpose as a lip balm.

But since it's a balm and not lipstick you have to be careful when you apply otherwise you can end up with patchy lips. It does hydrate when you 1st apply but I noticed the darker the pigment of the Colorbalm the more my lips dry. Not sure if that's just me. To prevent that I just lightly apply on my lips which makes the color look more like a stain my lips which I prefer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Cherry I received Benefits California Kissin' Colorbalm Moisturizing Lip Balm (Cherry) in my September the creamy moisturizing texture and feel of Benefit California Kissin'Colorbalm Moisturizing Lip Balm. However, like most true red lipsticks, the Cherry shade is a bit too bright for my fair complexion. I am able to tone down the brightness by blending it with black lip liner or black lipstick.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from More of a lipstick than a balm This product has a lovely green but is much more pigmented than I expected even from the photos. I had bought it after seeing a suggestion that the colour I chose would be a good substitute for the discontinued Benebalm which I loved. However this new product is the same depth of colour as a lipstick. So if like me you are looking for a tinted balm this might not be for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found a lip color I love to wear! I'm a very "low maintenence" makeup person. I looooove the way the "Berry" shade looks. It's so easy to put on and my kids feel good while/ after I'm wearing it rather than getting dry. Like other reveiwers have mentioned, it seems to also leave some clor behind after the product has been wiped off, which I love. I got one for my mom too and she wears it every day.
