Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful colour, with a lovely texture. A friend of mine recommend this colour (le rouge no 1) and i love it!!! It compliments my skintone beautifully. The product glides on well and does not dry out my lips as some other brands. I've got several colours in this range and still looking to purchase others. Definitely worth the money spent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Congeals and doesn’t stay I have rouge per couture in shade 06 and not only does it congeal on my lips in the corners, it literally will last about an hour then I am left with just remnants on my lip line and dry lips :-/ wouldn’t but again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best classic red ever This lipstick range is the perfect connection to the past: to glamour and style, with its smooth luxurious feel on your lips, it is never heavy, and the colour is perfect and bright: the iconic shiny bright red (Le Rouge, of course: I am obsessive about wearing only red lipsticks) It also has a nice flavour, something that make-up designers often forget about: this lipstick tastes wonderful, which is all part of making you feel good about yourself. The design of the packaging is perfect, sharply stylish in gold with a simple internationally-distinctive monogram: you don't have to say anything, this lipstick just proves your stylishness (the look on their faces says "Oooo, YSL!") and the mirrored finish on the casing is incredibly useful for surreptitious public applications too! It's not a stay-on lipstick, but that is part of its attraction. It comes off in the right places at the right times. Its the perfect lipstick for air-kissing girlfriends at lunch *mwah mwah* ... but also it looks great on the right kind of soft thick white cotton shirt-collar *wink* I've given it a value rating of 5 stars despite its price tag, because of its *intrinsic* value, owning YSL lipstick makes you feel GOOD about yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect RED! I have tested this shade number 50 Rouge Neon all day and it is just the perfect red lipstick! Eating and Drinking doesn't seem to affect it in any way. Top quality product which is worth every penny. Wearing it has quite an affect on other people too. I don't even where that much make up I just had this lipstick on as a tester and everyone smiles at you and starts talking to you. Wow! Thanks YSL you are 110% Class xxx

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Melon d’or no 59 has lost its gold shimmer ??? I am so disappointed my friends and I have used this colour for yrs . Then all of a sudden for some reason ysl have not put the gold sheen into the lipstick any more I wonder who else has noticed this I have spoken to the assistants in the shops and they all agreed it has definitely changed and not for the better Please bring back the original

There was nothing on the market to compare with the texture, or colours-and now it is discontinued. Harrods tell me they have had hundreds of requests for this lipstick, as the new ones are just not the same. Very sad.

Back to the old favourite nothing can live up to YSL rouge couture lipstick, I’ve spent a fortune on other high end brands but now sticking with the one that delivers! Great coverage, lips feel smooth and moisturised and colour lasts, lovely elegant classic shades to choose from.
