Disappointed
I purchased this Airfly pro for my spouse who travels quite a bit. First comment was, I don't see headphone jacks on airplanes I fly on any more. Also, most of the plane "entertainment" centers on head rest in front of you have been removed as most airlines use their own network for entertainment, through the airlines app.Other reason I purchased was to use in my truck to play music through truck speakers, problem is, no headphone jack in truck and no headphone jack on my iPhone. This Airfly Pro isn't going to work for our family.

Rubbish
I have not been on an aircraft yet, in which the Airfly Pro works.I am yet to find an aircraft with an Aux port, that allows me to plug the Airfly Pro directly into the entertainment unit.It appears that I have to carry a number of different adaptors. I have just finished flying on an Airbus. This aircraft uses a 3-pin plug. The Boeing I was on uses a 2-pin plug.None of this was explained in the Instructions Booklet. From my experience. The Airfly Pro is better suited to being tied to a fishing line and used as a Sinker.

Worked Great at First, Now Completely Dead
I bought the AirFly Pro about a year ago and at first it worked perfectly. It was easy to use and sounded great. Recently it suddenly stopped turning on, even though it was fully charged. I tried all the recommended troubleshooting steps, including resets, but it is still completely unresponsive.I have reached out to Twelve South for support and I am still waiting to hear back. For a product that worked so well at the beginning, it is very frustrating to have it fail completely with no clear solution.

Easy to use...wished there was more amplification
I purchased the AirFly primarlly to connect with my new EarFun ear buds on my frequent cross-country flights. I used it for the first time this morning. Syncing (connecting) was ridiculously simple. Couldn't really get any easier. I was slightly disappointed however in the volume output. With the volume set on max on both the seat back monitor and the AirFly, the volume was just loud enough to hear the movies. If it wasn't for closed captioning, I likely would have missed several lines. I know the issue isn't the earbuds as I listened to music from my phone and that came through loud and clear. The overall enjoyment of cord free listening in flight overrides this small frustration. I have another flight in a few weeks and will update this review if I have a different listening experience.

So far it's not working properly
It was easy to pair and it worked as I expected, but straight away noticed latency and it's pretty bad, strangely enough it does gets better at certain times. The biggest problem it stops working after a minute or so. No led indication to say battery low or anything, sound just stops. I plug to usb to charge, orange led stays for a minute and goes out, which means it's fully charged. Then again I start using it and it stops every time. All my other devices BT is off. This is with Airpods Pro.

Could not use it on British Airways DEN LHR flight
I purchased Airfly Pro for the express purpose for long haul flights just before leaving the US. I travelled on 1/14/24 from Denver to London and from 5here to Bangalore. When I tried to plug in the 2 pronged adaptor it didn’t go into the slot in the airplane. I asked the flight attendant to help me. She took one look at it and said that the prongs are thicker. I was flabbergasted. How can Twelve South sell this on a falsehood like this? What do I do with this now.

Work well, easy ordering process
We purchased the AirFlys to give out as a conference gift and they were a hit! They're great for those who travel often and want better quality audio than the cheap headphones given out on planes. We got the items customized with an imprint of our company logo and the process was easy as can be: we were given a few options for logo placement, they were ready in a few days after placing the order, and the final product looked great.

No sound is coming out.
I bought it before travel, for use on a plane. I have AirPods Pro 2. I'm able to pair my AirPods, no problem. And I hear the pairing tone in my AirPods when I turn on the AirFly thingie. But there's no sound coming out of the earphones. I tried wired earphones and it worked. I also tried using it with my MacBook at the hotel and there's still no sound coming out. Tried a few resets, read the instructions a few times, nothing works.

Love my AirFly, but the storage pouch needs redesign
I loved my original AirFly so much, that I actually purchased a replacement after my first one got lost! Unfortunately, the black storage pouch that comes with the transmitter did not end up being secure. I had the AirFly attached to a small carabiner on my backpack for easy access and when I went to use my AirFly, I found that the transmitter had slipped out of the bag!!! I hope a secure travel case is in the works for 12 South!

Not always accidentally unplugging!
I bought 5 of these at Christmas and fortunately saved one for myself. So easy to use and every flight my seatmates would ask what it was-and how to get one! So nice to just pair, plug it in, turn on and be done. I was always irritated when I would accidentally disconnect my cord for my headphones if I moved wrong-no more worries. Of course I had to order the new noise cancelling air pods to go with it-worth it!

Didn't work
First, let me say I have purchased several twelve south products over the years and they worked perfectly. Secondly, I really, really wanted the AirFly to work because I have 2 transatlantic round flights this summer. I purchased two AirFly devices from a "prime online retailer." 12S packaging was apple-isque and functional and both devices charged with no problem. We tried to link our AirPod Pro 2 and gen 2 AirPods to 2 different AirFly devices. Also, made sure the AirPods "forgot" all the other Apple devices; basically I was trying to link it just to the AirFly. No sound, no nothing. Tried on a Delta flight and an American Airlines flight. So frustrating these didn't work. Hey, if this product works for some people great but it absolutely didn't work for me or my wife. I would have returned the items but the packaging was destroyed. I'll try again soon but I'm not hopeful.

Doesn’t work with AirPods Pro Gen 2.
Most times I get sound in only one ear and when I can connect, I get an echo effect cause both sides aren’t synced and lastly and most annoying and frustrating is that it only connects for a limited amount of time before you have to reset. This is my second set and they both have the same problem. I travel a lot and not one time have I been able to watch a movie without interruption aka technical problems.

Waste of money
I was very disappointed with the AirFly. It never would sync with my Airpods even after trying multiple times following their paper directions and website directions. Even the friend who recommended it and used it well with her android technology admitted her husband had a hard time connecting his Apple technology. We bought it for use on the flight to Spain and for tours while there and it was useless.

Disappointed
The two prong adapter is not compatible on the United premium cabin headphone jacks. They require a double prong that has one small and one large prong, not two of equal size. Disappointed to have bought this for a long series of flights only to discover it wasn’t compatible on any of the aircraft. What a waste. I’m outside the return window as I bought in advance to prepare for all the flights.

Really good. Almost what I needed.
It’s a clean design and works well. It is almost what I need. Are use it as a Bluetooth receiver and adapter to get my iPhone 13 into my 2008 truck stereo. The unit WONT pass cell phone audio, which Hi really need to be a hands-free Senior. I wonder why it does that? Probably an iOS operating system thing but you guys do say you are compatible with Apple, so, any ideas? Thank you.

Perfect Solution
I love my AirFly Pro - with an older car, it means I now have wireless capability and can stream directly to the vehicle. And using it on a long haul flight with my noise cancelling headphones is the best thing ever. If I had a suggestion for an improvement it would be to enable the device to communicate battery levels to a phone or other device so it isn't a guessing game.

Works Great So Far
I used it on two flights so far. It was very easy to pair my AirPods Pro with. I used it on two flights. The first was just under three hours and the second was three hours. My AirPods stayed connected the entire time without any issues. I was even able to hear the movie while in the airplane restroom. The AirFly is small and lightweight. I am very happy with my purchase.

Using mostly to transmit
I have an older Sonos speaker that I can now use to listen to music from my phone. Since phones no longer have a headphone jack, this has been sitting around gathering dust. Took a little fiddling get it working but that was mostly on the Sonos side of things. The YouTube video on using this in your car was helpful. I’m excited to have music in the bedroom again.

C’mon
The first pair I bought connected to tv monitor on flight only once then I couldn’t get it to connect after that. So, I thought it was a lemon and I couldn’t find the receipt, so I bout another one and it connected for awhile but then I couldn’t pair them either. It’s very nice when it works but extremely hard to pair. Not happy - therefore it get a 3 star minus

Not that impressed
Although the AirFly Pros work as expected, I’m not so sure they will last as I would expect for something I pad this much for!Buttons are very flimsy!I’d expect more for the cost! Hopefully they last for a long as I need before all plane seats have Bluetooth support!I wish I could’ve given a better review - I haven’t been disappointed by twelve south until now!

Works GREAT so far.
The reason for purchasing the AirFly was that I am going to be taking a long flight at the end of the year. But I have the AF plugged into my truck right now so I can blue tooth my phone to my truck radio & it works flawlessly. I am excited to use it on the plane with my wireless headphones. If it works as well as in my truck it’ll be well worth the money.

Poor Connection
Initially, was quite excited to try the AirFly with frequent travel, but was severely disappointed. The connection to my AirPods Pro is quite poor. The initial connection took multiple attempts, and does not easily remember my AirPods to reconnect. Additionally, the connection is lost frequently. I would not recommend purchasing these for airplane travel.

So far, so good
I bought the AirFly Pro because I wanted the ability to receive and transmit bluetooth signals. I haven't used it extensively, so I can't attest to its durability, but it works. I wanted to be able to use my older wired noise canceling headphones with my new iPhone 13 via bluetooth. Frank at Customer Support was great at talking me through needing to buy a female to female 3.5 mm adapter to make it work. I also tested its ability to transmit by plugging it in to an old iPod shuffle and used bluetooth headphones, and that worked well, too. I also plugged it into my TV and didn't really notice any lag. What it doesn't do is transmit and receive at the same time, so you can't use it for phone calls, but that is clear from the description. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase, especially with the New Year discount. Delivery was fast and free. Product seems great; customer service was responsive, friendly, and useful; and ordering was painless.

Works great and a now a permanent part of my travel kit.
This is my second AirFly. My first was “adopted “ by my son who now travels more often than I travel. These work great and will easily endure a coast to coast flight with no battery issues. Connection is easy to Bose quiet comfort buds (and air pods). No loss of connection even if you need to get up and move about the cabin on a long flight.

Poor latency
I tried to use the Air fly pro with a guitar modeller but the latency is too great. You play the guitar but you get no sound for around half a second which of course renders this device useless for use with modellers which are becoming increasingly popular.12 South you've missed the boat on that score, back to the drawing board folks!!

I'll listen differently this year.
While I haven't had the opportunity to use my Airfly SE I am happy to have it. Last year I had extensive flights on an airline l that had IFEs on most flights but because they weren't equipped with Bluetooth, I wasn't able to use my Bose noice canceling headphones. That scenario will play out differently this year. Thanks Twelve South!

Game changer
I will not leave home without this. Easy to set up and I've used it so far with the home TV, the car and hotel TV. I have a flight next month so I will put it to the real test. I prefer the aisle seat so I always find myself entangled with corded headphones when I or my neighbor passenger need to get up. This will be a gamechanger!

Airfly worked for 2 yrs, 5 hr battery life at best
My airfly Duo worked ok fury 2 yrs, then it did. Also I never gory more than 4 or 5 hrs of battery life. Luckily, I carry a battery/power bank, so I could charge and use the device while on a tour using whisper devices. It worked pretty well on the airplane, but with hearing aids, headphones work better due to background noise.

Wow!! this is a game changer, This little piece will become your new travel buddy. It worked flawlessly, it was easy to set up and use. To be able to become wireless in air was the selling point for me. If you travel frequently, you must get yourself ones of these. It's worth the price and I just wish I had found this sooner.

Not impressed
I guess it does work as a Bluetooth but the data lag even attached to a digital device is noticeable. It is distracting to have to synch the voice and the lips of the speaker in one’s own mind. And when attached to an analog output the lag is ridiculous. For the price it’s not any better than any other Bluetooth adapter.
