Philips PerfectCare Steam Iron is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid products with "OptimalTEMP technology" I should have listened to the other poor review. The "OptimalTEMP technology" means that instead of any temperature control the iron is meant to "sense" the correct temperature. For me, that meant three times as long ironing, and then nothing looks like it's been ironed. The only way to get anything vaguely wrinkle-free is to iron on the highest steam setting, and even then that doesn't work very well. I ended up having to wet EVERY single piece of clothing and then try to iron them dry to achieve any sort of wrinkle removal. Supremely disappointing iron. I'm going to write this one off as a really bad decision and go out and buy another iron.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Careful consideration before purchasing I purchased this iron as most of my ironing was business shirts and not to concerned about the reviews for managing heavy denim etc. I’ve ironed my husbands business shirts for 30+ years and was time for an other replacement. This iron failed to deliver. I found ironing required significant effort to achieve a less than satisfactory result and was taking twice as long. In addition, we have even reviewed you tube in case we were missing any instruction. A longer cord would be beneficial.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing iron 90% of my ironing is men's cotton business shirts. This iron does not get hot enough to press creases out of cottons and with no manual temperature control you cannot change the settings. The cord is very short on this iron and an extension lead is always required. I spend most of my time being frustrated having to press and press over areas and still not reaching a good result then the rest of the time filling the water tank. I would not recommend this product for cottons, denim, linen. I will concede that it works well on synthetics, however not being able to push the temperature up for all other fabrics makes this feature useless. I have had Philips irons in the past and they have been great products. This product is a great disappointment which makes tedious household chore take much longer than it needs too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Regret buying this iron It was an expensive iron to buy. After using a regular iron for 30 plus years I thought a steam iron was going to be even better. It’s good to steam delicates but terrible for shirts and pant ( Which is most of my ironing). Cord too short for a start. Had use an extension cord. Doesn’t iron out creases no matter how many times I iron it. Drips water. Runs out of water quickly. Have to descale it often which requires turning it off and letting it cool down mid way thru ironing. Really disappointed . Should have bought a regular iron for a quarter of the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did't live up to expectations Firstly the cord is too short. Secondly the water tank is too small, or maybe that is because the iron continues steaming even after you put it down in an upright position to move the item you are ironing. Thirdly it dribbles water all the time, but even more so when the water tank is getting empty. Fourthly it spits water and steam while you are ironing. Finally it often doesn't recognise a cotton or linen item and therefore requires repeated ironing to remove creases. This is the second one I have, the first I returned to the store because of the leaking water only to find the same problem with this model. First one was also grey/charcoal and almost impossible to tell how much water was in the tank. This blue model is slightly better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT HOT ENOUGH - WORST IRON I'VE OWNED It looks pretty, it feels nice – one slight issue: it doesn’t iron. It is worse than my first cheap iron I owned more than 30 years ago. I have been a huge fan of the Philips Azure irons and have owned 3 or 4. Looking for another Azure, I found the range had changed over time, and this iron seemed ‘up there’ and comparable. I read a lot of reviews which were mixed, and now, having tried this iron, I totally regret this purchase. From the first use, I was disappointed. I started with pillowcases. They remained creased after ironing. Then I moved on to various fabrics, all of which are far more labour intensive and time consuming with this iron. I set up my old Philips Azure iron (heats but won’t release steam) alongside this new one and the difference in heat was so obvious. This iron is NOT HOT ENOUGH. It may suit you if you have a wardrobe full of light polyester, but the move to cotton is hopeless. I’ve just now tried to iron handkerchiefs to experiment and I had to go over them several times to remove the creases. With a family of 5, this iron is just not good enough. I’m used to zipping quickly over garments, but each item takes so long with this iron. I would not recommend it at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really pleased with this iron Bought this iron to replace another Philips iron which needed replacing. I did some research before deciding to buy this one and the main factor in purchasing was the one temperature for all fabrics feature. I've got to be honest I didn't know whether it would work as advertised but having seen mainly positive reviews I took the plunge and I have to say having just completed the first batch of ironing with it I'm glad to say that it does as it says on the tin. Ironed a variety of fabrics without any issue. I don't understand some of the comments about the blue light being too bright, some people must have really sensitive eyes for the light to be any cause for concern or they are just exaggerating but overall I have absolutely no complaints about this iron.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Iron doesn't iron I love the idea of an iron that can't damage any fabric but the reality is that the iron simply doesn't iron mid- or heavy weight fabric. I couldn't even get a crisp finish on piece of flat fabric before cutting/sewing a garment. It spits water despite promising it won't and the picture instructions are ridiculously unclear. I was very excited by the promises made by this iron but very disappointed by its function. An iron that doesn't iron isn't worth buying.
