Avoid products with "OptimalTEMP technology"I should have listened to the other poor review. The "OptimalTEMP technology" means that instead of any temperature control the iron is meant to "sense" the correct temperature. For me, that meant three times as long ironing, and then nothing looks like it's been ironed. The only way to get anything vaguely wrinkle-free is to iron on the highest steam setting, and even then that doesn't work very well. I ended up having to wet EVERY single piece of clothing and then try to iron them dry to achieve any sort of wrinkle removal. Supremely disappointing iron. I'm going to write this one off as a really bad decision and go out and buy another iron.

Great product that’s easy to use[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really good product, nice design and great quality. Felt strange at first not having to set the temperature , especially on sensitive items like silk. Got used to it fairly quickly and I like that it turns off on its own if left on. At first use, it left some tiny white particles on the material but I’m assuming that was just some dust particles caught in the steam holes. Has not happened since initial use. Steaming functionality is good and does not drip. I’ve left it for several seconds on a silk and cotton blend top and no burn marks noticed. Works well on stubborn creases.

Regret buying this ironIt was an expensive iron to buy. After using a regular iron for 30 plus years I thought a steam iron was going to be even better. It’s good to steam delicates but terrible for shirts and pant ( Which is most of my ironing).
Cord too short for a start. Had use an extension cord.
Doesn’t iron out creases no matter how many times I iron it. Drips water. Runs out of water quickly.
Have to descale it often which requires turning it off and letting it cool down mid way thru ironing.
Really disappointed . Should have bought a regular iron for a quarter of the price.

Ultimate plug and go Ironing[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having checked and re checked the instructions, i filled the iron and plugged it in. Dubious about no temperature controls on the iron, i tried it on my partners chefs whites first and was amazed at the little effort and time it took. the steam boost facility is great and take no time at all to iron items. The next item i tried was some net curtains, the iron stood while i was unfolding and placing the curtains on the board. I tried the corner of the item first in case it marked it, but i didnt need to worry, was bale to iron the curtains straight away and with some of the best results and least effort I have ever had. Great product

Easiest Iron I've Used[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iron has a feature called OptimalTEMP which means it works out the temperature needed for you meaning you don't have to change the temperature when changing between fabrics.
It heats up twice as quick as the iron it replaced and it glides smoothly over the fabrics making the whole process much quicker. The steam button works as expected and delivers a lot of steam.
The cable is braided for extra safety and seems of a really high quality.
This iron doesn't fit in our ironing board as well as the Iron it replaces but it does fit and stays safe with a little wiggle.
The iron itself looks modern and is well presented - I would definitely recommend this iron.

Great iron, but no indicator that the water level is low[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having used this iron for a couple of weeks, I was surprised and pleased by the ease of use. There's no temperature gauge to mess with, and only a few simple settings to get the maximum results. It's heavy enough to give some clout with hard creases and saves you going over the material time after time.
One thing I wish it would have is a water warning light or indicator. Due to this being a steam iron it uses the water rapidly and can empty itself twice over the course of four or five shirts.
The instruction manual was also difficult to decipher, as it was a series of pictures with few words.

This product really glides[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the Philips PerfectCare Steam iron. The steam glide system makes ironing a breeze! I'd done about 10 shirts in no time at all! ironing which could usually take me the best part of 45 minutes took 25! The iron it's self is pretty big, and the design is very practical. much quieter than my previous iron, and the automatic switch off is perfect for a busy household! honestly, it's a dream to use, even around jeans pockets and shirt buttons. a major point for me, however, was having the power of a classic steam iron, but without the huge bulk which you would usually get.

Worst iron I have ever usedThe worst iron I have ever used
I am so disappointed with this iron. I bought it because it was a Philips and consequently I expected a quality product which sadly this iron is not. It was sold to me as having temperature control that adjusts to the material of the item you are ironing and therefore would not burn clothing. It doesn’t burn anything because it doesn’t get hot enough to iron anything! This iron has tripled my ironing time and cannot iron normal creases from washing out of business shirts or school uniforms shirts. A very disappointing purchase.
