Rated 5 out of 5 by from a great assistant in kitchen [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] was only planned to buy a replacement for a broken microwave but when doing some research and this Panasonic 27L Flatbed Steam Combination Microwave does attract us as it equips with cooking functions including microwave, grill, oven and steam and the it also provides the combinations of any of those 3 to make the cooking even more dynamic. Was a bit wondering if it could do every separate function but it does good job and the cominbation delivery the even beter results and I am going to explore more combinations and it certainly save lots of time and let the cooking become even more creative and fun.

Finally, I did purchase the DS59NB a month ago, carefully unpacked (encase I wanted to return - as I had on another brand recently) and I am delighted to say I am 100% pleased with this oven. Easy to use, easy to clean, exceptionally great grill that is very even across four slices of toast. A good cookbook which I will fine tune as I get more into the mix of cooking options this great little unit will provide.

Having owned the oven for a month, thus far it has exceeded expectations and we still haven’t used all its features. In particular the speed and quality of the food it cooks is fantastic, including using some of the auto programs, In addition, having the ability to steam, bake and grill as well as (better than) air fryer menus is a game changer not only cutting cooking time down after a busy day at work but also removing additional ‘clutter’ from the kitchen worktop. Highly recommended.

I wanted to replace my separate air fryer, steamer, and microwave — this does it all in one sleek unit. It’s quiet, consistent, and super easy to use. The flatbed design means no fiddly turntables to clean, and the steam cleaning and cooking functions are both convenient and healthy. Everything comes out evenly cooked and delicious. If you’re looking for one appliance that truly multitasks and simplifies your kitchen setup, this is it. Highly recommend!

The instructions are unclear, referrring back to pages. I can't decipher the auto and combination cooking options. It is very hard to remember to take the grill tray in and out and where to put it when not in use. The controls offer limited choice of time and confusing to program to preheat and then cook in oven. The steam option is not good to use as it uses a lot of water for just one setting and the oven is dripping with water. I am not game to try the grill function. It is far too complicated for me to use other than the microwave or oven options. It is not easy to add time when cooking in the oven as it immediately cools. It is all very confusing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance, very easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this 5 in 1 combination oven a month ago and being used to a gas oven, were very surprised how quickly the oven warms up and how evenly the temperature distribution is. We love the steam function for steaming vegetables and dumplings and of course the microwave is very handy. The other features (air fryer) and grill will also be useful although we haven’t tried these yet. All in all, we are extremely happy with our purchase. Combined with an induction cooking field we got rid of gas altogether!

However, once we made room on the bench, we found this product so easy to use and versatile - it has enhanced our kitchen experience by providing many features in one for the smaller space. We particularly love the flat bed technology and steam function for healthy meals. Highly recommended.

Can you fit a trim kit to this model and if so what clearance do you need around it please

Thanks for your question Brent. This oven is designed for counter-top use only. It is not intended for built-in use or use inside a cupboard and is not compatible with a trim kit. The oven must be placed on a flat, stable surface, more than 85 cm above the floor. For correct operation, the oven must have sufficient air flow, i.e. 5 cm at one side, the other being open; 25 cm clear over the top; 10 cm at the rear. Trust this helps!

Hi, does this combi microwave have a defrost function? Can you bake a cake in it? Can you cook roast chicken? And roast potatoes? Can you have 2 trays at a time? So you can roast a chicken and roast potatoes at the same time? Thank you

Thanks for your questions. Yes, this does have a Defrost function which uses weight and food type to give an even defrost. It doesn't have a specific Roast function in the instructions, though you can use it for potatoes, and chicken. They have different settings and cooking times for each, so we can't confirm if you can do both at the same time, and would be trial and error. Trust this helps! ^CO
