Rated 4 out of 5 by from All Over It [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Russell Hobbs Addison 4 Slice Toaster Matte Black looks very sleek in my kitchen, what a pleasure it is to have the options of hubby having his toast lightly brown on his side of the toaster and me being able to toast it to golden on my side of the toaster all at the same time. I love the even toasting and being able to fit crumpets or English muffins in, even the thick sliced raisin toast fits into the adjustable cavity.

It also has different functionalities to defrost and reheat and to select how much browning you need for your bread. This was a super effective feature for fussy kids like mine where one prefers toasted and the other prefers light brown. Toaster matched my kitchen and using everyday since it arrived. So happy with this toaster

If you use just two slots for your toast, the other slots do not heat up, unlike other 4 slice toasters. The slots are adjustable, so you can toast thin breads or thicker items such as crumpets or a thick slice of sour dough. Easy to use buttons, I toasted my bread from frozen and it turned out great with just one action instead of having to defrost your bread before toasting. So convenient.

No crumb trays that can be removed but does have hatches that open up for easy cleaning. Not a full slice can be fully toasted as the top seems to be missed Overall 8/10

It toast well, as you can do 2 pieces per side. I found the heat knobs quite flimsy, for how expensive this product is they feel like they won't last too well. The way to clean crumbs is a little annoying. It was 2 clip pieces underneath. I drawer or slider would be more convenient. Overall ok,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great expectations.... I bought this toaster along with the matching kettle in 2021. This toaster replaced a great toaster that I'd had as a wedding gift for 16 years. We only upgraded to match our house we moved into, to be on trend . I actually love the matte finish and retro styling. BUT this is by far the worse toaster I've owned or used. It takes forever to brown / cook toast, even on the top setting. I can actually put a slice on high and go and use the bathroom, return and it just pops but barely browned. I also really, really wish it had a crumpet setting like my old toaster did. It takes two pushes down to toast the toast! Crumpets come out raw. And as a cleaner by occupation the attached crumb tray is not that great, and seems fidgety to clean. Slide out trays are much easier. I wish I'd returned it to be honest, but it was during the very long covid lockdown in Melbourne.

No need to hide this beauty away in the cupboard as it looks amazing just sitting on the bench! Love the functionality, especially the defrost as I store my bread in the freezer. The Matt black colour is lovely and would suit any colour kitchen. If you do have to put it away, it’s not too heavy or bulky. LOVE this toaster!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Terrible toaster Bought this toaster just over a week ago. Looked nice, I like the drop down crumb tray as opposed to the slide out type but that's as good as it gets. Burned in the elements as directed to get rid of that horrible new toaster smell, then adjusted the settings to low to start with as we don't like burnt toast. Each time we use the toaster we adjust the setting to a higher number as the bread is not toasted. Toasts unevenly, one side is barely toasted, just used at setting 4 which equates to 4 minutes & the bread is still not toasted to my preference while the other side is hardly toasted at all. 4 minutes in my old toaster & the smoke alarm would be going off. Looks like more adjustments to the settings will be required, takes far too long to toast bread. I read reviews before purchasing so I thought it was a good toaster or did I get a dud? I like toast, not warmed bread that feels stale. Wish I hadn't purchased it.

Trays are easy to take out and clean. I absolutely love the colour. Took a few days to work out correct setting for different types of bread (this was to be expected) but now that is sorted it works perfectly every time.

The matching Toaster and Kettle are great together. The high lift and wide slots are great for any type of bread, crumpets, waffles, focaccia and muffins. The independent browning control made it easy for everyone to pick what kind of browning they wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forgot what a good toaster was like We had an oldish toaster, maybe about 6 years old and although it was "working" the cancel didn't and it was getting tired. So I convinced hubby that we needed a new one. Happy for lots of the functions. The toast sits higher (no more digging toast out), the toast was evenly toasted (who knew) and the cancel works. Just like a toaster should be :-)

I like that you can specify colour settings for either side of the toaster (2 piece either side), meaning that my family can all eat together without having to change the settings for each user - set and forget so to speak.

Even then, often requires a second round. Crumpets and sourdough bread usually require 3 cycles before they are browned enough. Only raisin bread could be toasted in one cycle, but even that required setting 5.

Good to have two separate toaster functions, last toaster had the four slots but cancel button cancelled all - this one has two separate cancel functions which is more useful. Still new so will see how we go but happy with the purchase so far!

Toasted beautifully on one side of the toast and nothing on the other side. Very disappointed would be a complete under statement.

Doesn't toast evenly on both sides as some others have mentioned too but I can't recall any toaster that actually does (also not a deal breaker).

Toasts bread nice and evenly on both sides and manages to toast crumpets without burning them though I give them two bursts on number five to get the best result. Toaster also looks good and doesn’t take up too much room on the counter top.
