With results from our existing battery-charged hoover being so disappointing, we decided on purchasing the very expensive Dyson V15 Detect Absolute. We were truly and very highly impressed at the results from hoovering of the upstairs carpeted landing. The suction power was excellent and the visible results extremely impressive. The amount of dust and dirt was highly visible in the hoover. The state of the carpeted area was very visibly improved. 27 June 2025 - Just had new carpets laid in three rooms. The carpet fitters used our Dyson to clean up and praised it highly for the suction strength and how it left the areas so clean and tidy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grateful I have always wanted one but could not afford it, I have always hated vacuuming the house but because I have really bad allergies and hay fever plus we have a cat so it was a must to vacuum, my husband did the vacuuming in the end as I hate vacuuming 😂 my husband and I always buy each other earl Xmas presents something we always want so of cause I picked a Dyson but not just any Dyson but a V 15 Dyson, just over a month so ago. I have used this vacuum more in this last month than I have in nearly this whole year. I absolutely love it, so easy to use and empty. Best money spent, thank you so grateful for this product.😊

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vacuuming Made Easy I bought my Dyson V15 Detect Absolute about three months ago and I have now just about got the hang of it. Having found a nice interior docking point for the device, I fixed its charging unit to the wall, so the machine is now always fully-charged and ready to use at an instant's notice. The Dyson website videos proved to be a very helpful guide to various aspects of the machine. My one criticism would be the trigger guard, which is inadequate, as it is almost impossible to pick up the machine or lift it down from its charging point without inadvertently activating the device. To avoid this, the trigger should be fully enclosed by the guard

I can hardly believe how awesome this new Dyson V15 Detect is. 1st job was vacuuming my living room rug which looked faded and had lost its pattern. Embarrassingly, in minutes I’d filled the dust bin with dog fur and dust, after the 2nd go, my beautiful rug was back displaying the colours and patterns again. Win, win! Next the hard floors which had only been washed the week before. The green laser light showed up all the dust and dog hair that had accumulated during the week which made it easy clean. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend this cleaner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good dust and cat fur pick up Very happy with purchase. What I like - The first few weeks I picking up so much ingrained dust our other cordless vacuum had left behind. The Green laser light on the hard floor head is great at allowing you to see that what you think is clean actually is not. So far it has been reliable and durable no plastics breaking or cracking (Im a bit rough on my vacuums) What I would like improved - A light on the carpet head to see in dark areas. A second battery included in kit, my house struggles even with 2 batteries. A wall charging dock that not only charges the installed battery but the spare battery as well.

However the increased weight is a disadvantage and no user manual (to tell me where and how to wash the filter). And battery laufe is not as it’s advertised, very short with brush bar attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of machine Had this for a few weeks now and it’s safe to say it’s the best investment I’ve ever made on a hoover. The suction is incredible on both hard floors and carpets (I’ve got long hair and it has no problems detangling when using the carpet attachment). I will say it’s a little heavy and you have to hold the trigger down the entire time whilst using, which I personally don’t mind but it would have been better if you could just switch on and off. Battery performance is also pretty good, lasts around 3 days and I hoover twice daily. Takes 4/5 hours to fully recharge. Overall, I am super happy and if you are in two minds; DONT BE. BUY IT!! You will not regret it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Is the machine over designed? I needed to replace my original V15 which I had for 3 years. I had many replacement parts which were covered by the warranty and after warranty had run out other parts were replaced free of charge by Dyson. The recent failure was where the machine repeatedly requested that the filter needed washing although the filter was cleaned and replaced. According to Dyson the machine needed another new body but they were unable to provide this f.o.c. I was delighted with the performance of the V15 Detect and reluctantly agreed to replace the machine at a discounted price. Whilst the machine does a good job I do wonder if the Dyson V15 Detect has over designed the technology which suggests it's prone to needing replacement parts unnecessarily.
